Trip Itinerary:
We kindly ask for your understanding that the final tour itinerary including our detailed recommendations can only be provided after your confirmation and down payment.
Day 1: Arrival in Zurich
Zurich Airport is very well connected to the city center. With only about 15 min by train to the city center, taking a taxi is not worth it here. Your hotel will be located right near the main train station - perfect for your day of arrival to walk around, stretch out your legs after your flight and get an impression of Switzerland's biggest city.
The famous Bahnhofstrasse, the Old town, and numerous museums are within walking distance. We specifically recommend visiting the Swiss National Museum Zurich, showcasing the history of Switzerland from its beginnings up to the present day, giving an insight into the Swiss identity and the rich tapestry of the country’s history and culture.
Day 2: Zurich (Day Excursion)
Your guide will meet you at the hotel and you will leave Switzerland's largest city behind for the day and you will head up north to Europe's biggest waterfall - the Rhine Falls. By boat, you get on the Rock in the middle of the falls to understand the power of this natural spectacle. On the other side of the falls lies Castle Laufen.
Shortly after, you get the chance to discover Stein am Rhein, which is well-known for its well-preserved old town with painted facades and half-timbered houses. Around noon you can stop in St. Gallen to discover the UNESCO world heritage Abbey district of St. Gallen. Ist magnificent Baroque cathedral forms a unique historical ensemble. The Abbey Library - with Switzerland's most beautiful hall and ancient books will fascinate you.
Day 3: Zurich → Engadin valley
On your way to the Alps, we will pass the beautiful Lake Walen from where the mighty seven Churfirsten arise. For early birds: If time allows we'd be happy to invite you on a boat cruise crossing Lake Walen to get closer to Switzerland's highest waterfalls.
If you would like to do some shopping or equip yourselves for your next days in the mountains, we could stop by at the Landquart fashion outlet.
Day 4: Engadin valley
The Engadin Valley is a true nature and outdoor paradise. St. Moritz was not without reason the birthplace of winter tourism and hosted the Winter Olympics twice. Despite its cosmopolitan atmosphere, it is the culture and tradition of this luxurious Alpine resort that has made it what it is today.
Your guide will take you on a train ride on the Bernina tracks to Alp Grüm or even to Tirano in Italy. Offering breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers this UNESCO world heritage doesn't leave any wishes open.
For cheese lovers: Have a break at the alpine cheesery Morteratsch and follow every step of making this swiss delicacy with your own eyes
Day 5: Engadin → Zermatt
Today we will add another highlight to your travel memories: The famous Glacier Express train ride. Over its entire length, the Glacier Express leads over 291 bridges and through 91 tunnels over the Swiss Alps. Sit back and relax while the train winds its way through remote valleys, past sheer rock faces, idyllic mountain villages, over the Landwasser Viaduct, and through the Rhine Gorge, the Grand Canyon of Switzerland. A 4-course menu rounds everything up.

Day 6: Zermatt
The car-free town of Zermatt is located at the foot of Switzerland's landmark - the impressive Matterhorn. The peak lift takes you up to the 360º viewing platform on Europe’s highest mountain station 'Klein Matterhorn', from where you can see 38 four-thousand-meter peaks and 14 glaciers. A must-see is also Zermatt’s glacier paradise.
With your peak-to-peak pass, you can also enjoy the famous Gorner Grat train which gives an impressive view of the Alps and Zermatt.
Later on today you can also enjoy a train ride on the Gorner Grat. Our personal highlight on a hot day is the Gorner Gorge.
Day 7: Zermatt → Montreux
Continuing your ride along the Valais (Valley) the language will change from German to French. Before we will touch the borders of the Lake we want to give you another thrill - the Tissot Peak Walk in Les Diablerets. Arriving at the Montreux Riviera you can enjoy the rest of the day on the shores of Lake Geneva. We will organize a private tour through the famous Chateau Chillon.
Day 8: Montreux (Day Excursion)
Enjoy the day on the shores of Lake Geneva or your guide could take you up to the remote area of the Jura mountains. In there the most beautiful caves of Vallorbe are waiting for you and your children to be discovered.
In the afternoon we will stroll around in Geneva, through its old-town, the flower watch, or the famous Jet-d'eau. To round up a visit in this international city we invite you on a private tour through the halls of the United Nations.
Day 9: Montreux → Wengen
Today another magnificent train ride is awaiting you - the Golden Pass. Personally, this is my favorite train line, even though it is short compared to the Glacier Express. Making its way up the steep mountain ridge you shouldn't miss a single moment! These tracks are also the only way crossing the nature parc of Gruyère - cars have to make a detour for hours to experience what you can do, stressless in one of the baroque wagons of the Golden Pass.
Your guide will then combine food and hiking/walking - we get ourselves a prepacked fondue rucksack and hike/walk to one of the giant fondue pots (seating areas) to enjoy your delicious fondue. The area of Gstaad and Zweisimmen is known for ist cheese delicacies.
Day 10 + 11: Wengen
You have 2 days to explore the Jungfrau region. Your guide will take you to Grindelwald and up the Mountain First from where you will go on a half-day hike to explore the beautiful Lake Bachalp. Returning via Grindelwald we should stay a little for a coffee to admire the notorious Eiger North Face - long considered to be the last alpine challenge. Return to your hotel will be via Lauterbrunnen, the valley of the 72 waterfalls.
Jungfraujoch (included):
Icy air sweeps over your face, snow crunches underfoot, and the panorama almost takes your breath away: on one side the view of the Swiss Mittelland towards the Vosges, on the other the Aletsch Glacier, lined with four thousand meter peaks. Standing on the Jungfraujoch 3,454 meters above sea level, you can feel it with your first step: this is a different world. It's one you have to experience.
Rafting (optional): The mighty Lütschine offers some of the best whitewater rafting in the Swiss Alps. Straight from the start below the Eiger north face, continuous class III-IV rapids surge down from the mountains and out into the Interlaken valley and the Lake of Brienz. It is an exhilarating rush from start to finish.

Day 12: Wengen → Lucerne
There is no better way to cross the blueish Lake Brienz than by boat. Go on a short walk to explore the beautiful Giessbach Falls. We will also stop by the beautiful Aare gorge - a spectacular natural formation created by the Aare river.
Day 13: Lucerne
Lucerne's Old Town is rated every year among the most beautiful towns in the world. Stroll around before you we will invite you on a boat cruise on Lake Lucerne. If you are interested in the history of Switzerland we can hop off and hike part of the Switzerland trail or visit the meadow where the legendary oath of Rüttli was taken and therefore a confederation of the first three cantons was formed.
Optional: A last mountain experience to Mount Rigi or Mount Pilatus
Day 14: Lucerne → Zurich
Lucerne and Zurich are very well connected which will allow you to maybe get some souvenirs or just enjoy a hot coffee on the shores of Lake Zurich or Lucerne. Your hotel will be again the Schweizerhof Zurich, which is very close to Zurich's main train station.
Day 15: Zurich → Zurich Airport
With only 15 minutes via train, Zurich Airport is easily accessible. Let us know if you would prefer a private transfer.
We are confident that this itinerary will provide some exclusive memories for you and your family until it is time to say: "Ade, Au revoir, ciao and hope to CYou again in Switzerland"
