Trip Itinerary:
We kindly ask for your understanding that the final tour itinerary including our detailed recommendations can only be provided after your confirmation and down payment.
Day 1: Arrival in Zurich (self-guided)
With only about 15 min by train to the city center, Zurich Airport is very well connected to the city center. Your hotel will be located right in the middle of the old town of Zurich - perfect for your day of arrival to walk around, stretch out your legs after your flight and get an impression of Switzerland's biggest city.
The famous Bahnhofstrasse, the Old town, and numerous museums are within walking distance. We will provide you with an itinerary for a short stroll and specifically recommend visiting the Swiss National Museum Zurich, showcasing the history of Switzerland from its beginnings up to the present day, giving an insight into the Swiss identity and the rich tapestry of the country’s history and culture.
Day 2: Zurich – Engadin (guided)
Your guide will meet you at your hotel and will take you towards Eastern Switzerland. On your way to the Alps, we will first stop at the Läderach House of Chocolate, and then pass the beautiful Lake Walen from where the mighty seven Churfirsten arise. For early birds: If time allows, we'd be happy to invite you on a boat cruise crossing Lake Walen to get closer to Switzerland's highest waterfalls.
If you would like to do some shopping or equip yourselves for your next days in the mountains, we could stop by at the Landquart fashion outlet.
Day 3: Engadin (self-guided)
The Engadin Valley is a true nature and outdoor paradise. St. Moritz was not without reason the birthplace of winter tourism and hosted the Winter Olympics twice. Despite its cosmopolitan atmosphere, it is the culture and tradition of this luxurious Alpine resort that has made it what it is today.
You will have a ticket that includes all public transport and cable cars for today. You can enjoy a train ride on the UNESCO world heritage Bernina tracks, head up the Diavolezza mountain station with fantastic glacier views, and/or have a break at the alpine cheesery Morteratsch and follow every step of making this Swiss delicacy with your own eyes
Day 4: Engadin – Zermatt (self-guided)
Today we will add another highlight to your travel memories: The famous Glacier Express train ride. Over its entire length, the Glacier Express leads over 291 bridges and through 91 tunnels over the Swiss Alps. Sit back and relax while the train winds its way through remote valleys, past sheer rock faces, idyllic mountain villages, over the Landwasser Viaduct, and through the Rhine Gorge, the Grand Canyon of Switzerland. A 4-course menu for the adults and the plate of the day for your children round everything up.

Day 5: Zermatt (self-guided)
The car-free town of Zermatt is located at the foot of Switzerland's landmark - the impressive Matterhorn. The peak lift takes you up to the 360º viewing platform on Europe’s highest mountain station 'Klein Matterhorn', from where you can see 38 four-thousand-meter peaks and 14 glaciers. A must-see is also Zermatt’s glacier paradise.
With your peak-to-peak pass, you can also enjoy the famous Gorner Grat train which gives an impressive view of the Alps and Zermatt.
Later on today you can also enjoy a train ride on the Gorner Grat. Our personal highlight on a hot day is the Gorner Gorge.
Day 6: Zermatt – Montreux (self-guided)
Continuing your train ride along the Valais (Valley) the language will change from German to French. Arriving at the Montreux Riviera you can enjoy the rest of the day on the shores of Lake Geneva. A visit to the medieval Chillon Castle is always worth it.
In the afternoon we organize a degustation tour through the vine terraces of Lavaux (another UNESCO world heritage). For your kids, there will be a possible alternative with fruit juice and snacks.
Day 7: Jura & Geneva (guided)
Today, we will plan a guided trip for you to the Vallée de Joux, the cradle of high-quality watchmaking, where the most prestigious watch brands still can be found. The Espace Horloger Vallée de Joux museum offers visitors of all ages an opportunity to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of watchmaking and tells the history of this industry, as well as its future, through modern, playful, and interactive exhibitions. Not far from here, the Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet (optional; if you're still motivated), inaugurated in June 2020, invites visitors to plunge into the Swiss manufacturer’s cultural universe of past, present, and future.
Your guide will then take you to one of the most beautiful show caves - the Grottes de Vallorbe. Afterward, your journey continues to Geneva where you will have time to stroll through its charming old town before your guide takes you back along Lake Geneva to Montreux.
Day 8 : Montreux – Wengen (self-guided)
Today another magnificent train ride is awaiting you - the Golden Pass. Personally, this is my favorite train line, even though it is short compared to the Glacier Express. Making its way up the steep mountain ridge you shouldn't miss a single moment! These tracks are also the only way crossing the nature parc of Gruyère - cars have to make a detour for hours to experience what you can do, stressless in one of the baroque wagons of the Golden Pass.
Potentially we could organize a visit in one of the alpine cheeseries (highly demanded).
Day 9: Wengen (self-guided)
This day is reserved to explore the Jungfrau region and head up the famous Jungfraujoch. Icy air sweeps over your face, snow crunches underfoot, and the panorama almost takes your breath away: on one side the view of the Swiss Mittelland towards the Vosges, on the other the Aletsch Glacier, lined with four thousand meter peaks. Standing on the Jungfraujoch 3,454 meters above sea level, you can feel it with your first step: this is a different world. It's one you have to experience.
Optional:
Rafting: +CHF 140 per Person
Paragliding: + CHF 190 per Person
Canyoning: from CHF 125
Day 10: Grindelwald – Lucerne (self-guided)
There is no better way to cross the blueish Lake Brienz than by boat. Go on a short walk to explore the beautiful Giessbach Falls.
Sitting on the foot of the mountain Pilatus, Lucerne is often voted as one of the prettiest cities in the world, featuring a colorful old town and 14th-century city walls, as well as covered bridges including the iconic Kapellbrücke with its 17th-century art. Stroll around before enjoying a boat cruise on the idyllic Lake Lucerne.
Day 11: Lucerne - Zurich Airport (self-guided)
The airport is very well connected from Lucerne which will allow you to maybe get some souvenirs or just enjoy a hot coffee on the shores of the Lake before you head to the airport.
We are confident that this itinerary will provide some exclusive memories for you and your family until it is time to say: "Ade, Au revoir, ciao and hope to CYou again in Switzerland"
