Trip Itinerary:

We kindly ask for your understanding that the final tour itinerary including our detailed recommendations can only be provided after your confirmation and down payment.

Day 1: Arrival Zurich:

We will organize a private transfer from Zurich Airport to your hotel, located in the heart of the city, close to the famous Bahnhofstrasse (shopping district) and Zurich's Old Town - perfect for your day of arrival to go spontaneously for a short walk and get an impression of Switzerland's biggest city.

With your early arrival you may want to take the train up north - only about an hour away the biggest waterfalls of Europe, the Rhine Falls, are located. Get on a boat to get on the rock in the middle of the falls for the best view.

Day 2: Zurich → Engadin Valley

Let's not waste any more time on the concrete jungle of Zurich (overdramatized; Zurich has a cute little Old-Town and lots of museums). As the first stop on your journey, you could also explore Chur. With a settlement history of over 5000 years, Chur is the oldest city in Switzerland and the picturesque old town is considered one of the most fully preserved in the country. Especially worth seeing are the episcopal palace, the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption, and the superbly preserved buildings in the old town.

If you would like to do some shopping or equip yourselves for your next days in the mountains, you might want to stop by at the Landquart fashion outlet.

Day 3: Engadin Valley

The Engadin Valley is a true nature and outdoor paradise. St. Moritz was not without reason the birthplace of winter tourism and hosted the Winter Olympics twice. Despite its cosmopolitan atmosphere, it is the culture and tradition of this luxurious Alpine resort that has made it what it is today.

Go on a train ride on the Bernina tracks to Alp Grüm or even to Tirano in Italy. Offering breathtaking views on the surrounding peaks and glaciers this UNESCO world heritage doesn't leave any wishes open.  For cheese lovers: Have a break at the alpine cheesery Morteratsch and follow every step of making this swiss delicacy with your own eyes

Self-Guided (Train)

Day 4: Engadin → Zermatt

Today we will add another highlight to your travel memories: The famous Glacier Express train ride (8 hours). Over its entire length, the Glacier Express leads over 291 bridges and through 91 tunnels over the Swiss Alps. You can sit back and relax while your driver guide will take care of your luggage.

On your trip from St Moritz, the train winds its way through remote valleys, past sheer rock faces, idyllic mountain villages, over the Landwasser Viaduct, and through the Rhine Gorge, the Grand Canyon of Switzerland.

Day 5: Zermatt:

You will have the chance to discover Zermatt on the foot of Switzerland's natural landmark - the Matterhorn. Very popular is the 5 lakes hike in the morning to get a perfect reflection of the surrounding mountains.

Also, take up the cable car to the Glacier Paradise, Europe's highest cable car station (3883 meters). One of the highlights is certainly the platform with a view over 38 four-thousand-meter peaks and 14 glaciers of the Swiss, Italian and French Alps.

Day 6: Zermatt → Montreux

Continuing your ride along the Valais (Valley) the language will change from German to French. Arriving at the Montreux Riviera you can enjoy the afternoon on the shores of Lake Geneva.

As part of your travel arrangement we will include the entry into the Chateau Chillon: If ever a castle could fit the fairy-tale bill, the dashingly handsome Château de Chillon would be it, with its moat, double ramparts and riot of turrets and towers, plus knockout views of Lake Geneva and the French Alps.

Day 7: Montreux:

Explore the vine terraces of Lavaux (another UNESCO world heritage) and go on a guided walk which ends up with a degustation of our local wines. There is a reason why Switzerland does not export that much of its own wine - we like to enjoy it ourselves!

Follow the northern shoreline to Geneva, home of the UN, ICRC, and numerous other NGOs. Depending on your interest and time until departure, we are happy to organize a guided tour through the UN. If your are even remotely interested in science a visit of the CERN is  a Must!

Day 8: Montreux to Grindelwald:

Another magnificent train ride is awaiting you - the Golden Pass. Personally, this is my favorite train line, even though it is short compared to the Glacier Express. Making its way up the steep mountain ridge you shouldn't miss a single moment! These tracks are also the only way crossing the nature parc of Gruyère - cars have to make a detour for hours to experience what you can do, stressless in one of the baroque wagons of the Golden Pass.

Combine food and hiking - get yourself a prepacked fondue rucksack and hike to one of the giant fondue pots (seating areas) to enjoy your delicious fondue. The area of Gstaad and Zweisimmen ist known for ist cheese delicacies. Then its time to get to the Jungfrau Region.

Day 9: Grindelwald

This day is reserved to explore the Jungfraujoch: Icy air sweeps over your face, snow crunches underfoot, and the panorama almost takes your breath away: on one side the view of the Swiss Mittelland towards the Vosges, on the other the Aletsch Glacier, lined with four thousand meter peaks. Standing on the Jungfraujoch 3,454 meters above sea level, you can feel it with your first step: this is a different world. It's one you have to experience.

Also have some fun at Grindelwald First and gokart your way back down into the valley!

Day 10: Grindelwald → Lucerne

At the end of your trip a Swiss chocolate experience can not be missed - so we include a visit to the Chocolate world at the Aeschbach chocolatiers.

Lucerne's Old Town is rated every year among the most beautiful towns in the world. Stroll around before you we will invite you on a sunset boat cruise on Lake Lucerne.  Experience the natural spectacle of a radiant sunset over the towering peaks of Central Switzerland. Let the tranquility of the lake and the majesty of the mountains do their bit, while the stately steamboat or the vessel "MS Diamant" gently glides over the waves. The catering crew will be delighted to serve you a selection of popular drinks or invite you for a refined dinner.

Day 11: Lucerne → Zurich Airport

Do some souvenir shopping or just have a coffee on the shores of Lake Lucerne before it's time to leave for the airport in Zurich which ich well connected from Zurich.

We are confident that this itinerary will provide some exclusive memories for you and your family until it is time to say: "Ade, Au revoir, ciao and hope to CYou again in Switzerland"
