Trip Itinerary:
We kindly ask for your understanding that the final tour itinerary including our detailed recommendations can only be provided after your confirmation and down payment.
Day 1: Arrival in Zurich
We will organize a private transfer from Zurich Airport to your hotel, located in the heart of the city, close to the famous Bahnhofstrasse (shopping district) and Zurich's Old Town - perfect for your day of arrival to go spontaneously for a short walk and get an impression of Switzerland's biggest city.
To get rid of the Jetlag you may want to climb up the twin towers of the Grossmünster, which are not only Zurich's prominent landmarks, but you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the city. For a first impression of Switzerland's history, you could also check out the Swiss National Museum (optional).
Day 2: Zurich - Day Excursion to Basel:
Your guide will meet you in the hotel lobby and will accompany you for the entire trip.
Today is reserved for a trip to Basel, widely regarded as Switzerland's cultural capital. At less than 1 hour from Zurich via train, Basel is rich in sights and art museums. The fondation Beyeler provides a world-class collection of artworks and is considered one of the world's most beautiful museums - we will organize a private guided tour through their exhibition. If time allows you could also wander around in Basel's Old-town before heading back to Zurich.
Day 3: Zurich → Lucerne
Sitting on the foot of the mountain Pilatus, Lucerne is often voted as one of the prettiest cities in the world, featuring a colorful old town and 14th-century city walls, as well as covered bridges including the iconic Kapellbrücke with its 17th-century art.
We will invite you on a boat cruise before you'll arrive at your hotel a little outside of Lucerne. The Vitznauerhof is a true hotel gem. It's restaurants are extra class: The Restaurant Sens (two Michelin Stars) for example is located on the shores of the Lake, embedded in the Swiss Alps. Jeroen Achtien and his team cultivate a fermentation based cuisine on the highest level. Uncompromising in terms of quality, careful in terms of regionality and seasonality. Let us know if we shall make a reservation for you (5-7 courses between CHF 225 - 265 per Person).

Day 4: Lucerne to Zermatt
Today a scenic ride will await you with multiple stops for short walks or to admire the natural landmarks on the way. First, we'll start with the narrow Goeschenen Gorge and the Devil's bridge which will then lead us deep into the Alps. Crossing multiple alpine passes we'll certainly stop for photos.
Next stop will be the Rhone Ice Grotte: Each year the grotto is hewn from the glacier ice anew – since 1870 and at 2300 m above sea level. A stop at the Goms suspension bridge will let us stretch out our legs before we'll board the train to Zermatt (100% car-free).
Day 5 & 6: Zermatt
The car-free town of Zermatt is located at the foot of Switzerland's landmark - the impressive Matterhorn. The peak lift takes you up to the 360º viewing platform on Europe’s highest mountain station 'Klein Matterhorn', from where you can see 38 four-thousand-meter peaks and 14 glaciers. A must-see is also Zermatt’s glacier paradise.
On one of the days: Get ready to climb (hike) your first 4 000m peak - the Breithorn. This private tour is a perfect way to get a sense of high Alpine air for the first time, but only for surefooted and experienced hikers accompanied by a mountain guide. The climb to the top and the descent afterward lasts about three hours depending on the conditions. Here's a video of the tour.
The other day is at leisure: Hundreds of hikes are awaiting you around or simply relax with the view of the surrounding mountains. It's up to you and your guide will assist you with any information you may need.
Day 7: Zermatt → Montreux
Continuing your ride along the Valais (Valley) the language will change from German to French. Arriving at the Montreux Riviera you can enjoy the rest of the day on the shores of Lake Geneva.
For the late afternoon, we will include a visit to the medieval Chillon Castle (with audio guide).
Day 8: Montreux - Day Excursion:
Today a magnificent train ride is awaiting you - the Golden Pass. Personally, this is my favorite train line, even though it is short compared to the Glacier Express. Making its way up the steep mountain ridge you shouldn't miss a single moment! These tracks are also the only way crossing the nature parc of Gruyère - cars have to make a detour for hours to experience what you can do, stressless in one of the baroque or panorama wagons of the Golden Pass.
Today your guide combines food and hiking/walking - we get ourselves a prepacked fondue rucksack and hike/walk to one of the giant fondue pots (seating areas) to enjoy your delicious fondue. The area of Gstaad and Zweisimmen is known for its cheese delicacies. But spare some appetite: The chocolate factory of Cailler is just around the corner.
Day 9: Montreux → Geneva:
Following the northern shore, we will head to Geneva. But not before we'll stopped by at the Vineyard terraces of Lavaux. Part of the UNESCO heritage it consists of 830 hectares of terraced vineyards that span for around 30 kilometers along Lake Geneva's northern shoreline. We are happy to walk around with you and invite you for a little degustation.
The afternoon will be at leisure to discover Geneva. Let us know if you are interested in a tour of the UN or CERN.
Day 10: Geneva
The airport of Geneva is the closest one in Europe. Within 7 minutes and regular departing trains, this is the easiest and fastest way to get to the airport. This will allow you to get some souvenirs or just enjoy a hot coffee on the shores of the Lake as well.
We are confident that this itinerary will provide some exclusive memories for you and your family until it is time to say: "Ade, Au revoir, ciao and hope to CYou again in Switzerland"
