Trip Itinerary:

We kindly ask for your understanding that the final tour itinerary including our detailed recommendations can only be provided after your confirmation and down payment.

General Info:

As discussed we or your guide on site will point out a short morning physical (walk, jog, cycling) if there's no physical activity planned anyway for that day and make recommendations for food or restaurant in the evening.

Day 1: Arrival in Zurich

We will organize a private transfer from Zurich Airport to your hotel, located in the heart of the city - perfect for your day of arrival to go for a walk and get an impression of Switzerland's biggest city. To get a first insight into the Swiss identity and the country’s rich history and culture, you may want to visit the Swiss National Museum Zurich, showcasing the history of Switzerland from its beginnings up to the present day.

Day 2: Zurich: Day Excursion: Basel

Today is reserved for a self-guided day trip to Basel, widely regarded as Switzerland's cultural capital. But first, start your day with your daily morning routine - a little sightseeing jog along the lake.  At less than 1 hour from Zurich, Basel is rich in sights and art museums. The fondation Beyeler provides a world-class collection of artworks and is considered one of the world's most beautiful museums. If time allows you could also wander around in Basel's Old-town - it's worth it!

Day 3: Zurich: Day Excursion: Ticino

This day is reserved for a trip to the Ticino, the Italian-speaking canton of Switzerland. Lucerne central station and Lugano are very well connected with direct trains in less than 2 hours (one way). In Bellinzona, discover the 3 Fortresses of Bellinzona on an e-MTB tour with a private guide. Continue to Lugano, the largest town of the Ticino, with its Mediterranean flair on the shores of Lake Lugano where you will have time to enjoy the afternoon before heading back to Lucerne.

Day 4: Zurich: Day Excursion: Appenzell

Nowhere else in Switzerland is the change from the hilly landscape of Central Switzerland to the craggy Alps so abrupt or impressive as in the Alpstein area. Mighty rock formations up to more than 2,500 meters high tower up as if from nowhere.

We'll invite you on a hike to the Ebenalp which offers spectacular views of this fascinating hiking area.

Guided Tour

Day 5: Zurich to Wengen (via Lucerne)

It is not a long ride from Zurich and Lucerne's Old Town is rated every year among the most beautiful towns in the world, featuring a colorful old town and 14th-century city walls, as well as covered bridges including the iconic Kapellbrücke with its 17th-century art.

Stroll around before you we will invite you on a boat cruise on Lake Lucerne.  Those who are interested in the history of Switzerland might want to hop off and hike part of the Switzerland trail or visit the meadow where the legendary oath of Rüttli was taken and therefore a confederation of the first three cantons was formed.

We'll stop by at the beautiful Aare gorge before we get deep into the Swiss Alps.

Day 6: Wengen

This area has so much to offer: Head up the famous Jungfraujoch, or one of the many other mountains offering fantastic panoramas, visit the valley of the 72 waterfalls and enjoy one of the many hiking trails in the area. You might want to take a walk on the Männlichen, the small servant of the royal three mountains: Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. The notorious Eiger North Face was long time considered to be the last alpine challenge. A walk on the Mänlichen will let you dive into the tragic and heroic stories of this wall.

Day 7: Wengen: Day Excursion to Zermatt

The train journey takes us towards Spiez, Interlaken and then the 14km long railway Loetschberg into the canton of Valais. You will have the chance to discover Zermatt on the foot of Switzerland's natural landmark - the Matterhorn.

The Gornergrat train travels through picturesque Alpine landscapes, passing through forests, and meadows, with several stops along the way to admire the views. The journey takes around 30 minutes and the train reaches an altitude of 3,089 meters (10,134 feet) at the summit station.

Day 8: Wengen:

With hundreds of shorter walks and hikes around it's easy to find the right one for you.

Something more adventurous?

Optional:

Paragliding: + CHF 200 per Person

Aletsch Glacier Hike: + CHF 395 per Person

Canyoning: + from CHF 125 to 180 per Person

Via Ferrata: + CHF 150 per Person

River Rafting: + chf 125 per Person

Also, a day at leisure is not to underestimate in Wengen: Enjoy a cup of Coffee on your terrace and admire the majestic Jungfrau, Mönch and Eiger mountains.

Day 9: Wengen→ Montreux

Continuing your ride along the Bernese Oberland the language will change from German to French.

Today your guide combines food and hiking/walking - we get ourselves a prepacked fondue rucksack and hike/walk to one of the giant fondue pots (seating areas) to enjoy your delicious fondue. The area of Gstaad and Zweisimmen is known for its cheese delicacies.

Today a magnificent train ride is awaiting you - the Golden Pass. Personally, this is my favorite train line, even though it is short compared to the Glacier Express. Making its way up the steep mountain ridge you shouldn't miss a single moment! These tracks are also the only way crossing the nature parc of Gruyère - cars have to make a detour for hours to experience what you can do, stressless in one of the baroque wagons of the Golden Pass.

Day 10: Montreux & Gruyère

Let's visit the medieval village of Gruyère and the Cailler chocolate factory, before heading into the Bernese Oberland.

As part of your travel arrangement, we will include the entry into the Chateau Chillon: If ever a castle could fit the fairy-tale bill, the dashingly handsome Château de Chillon would be it, with ist moat, double ramparts, and riot of turrets and towers, plus knockout views of Lake Geneva and the French Alps.

Day 11: Montreux: Day Excursion into the Jura

Your guide will meet you at your hotel and take you up to the remote area of the Jura mountains. The Vallée de Joux is the cradle of high-quality watchmaking, where the most prestigious watch brands still can be found. The Espace Horloger Vallée de Joux museum offers visitors of all ages an opportunity to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of watchmaking and tells the history of this industry, as well as its future, through modern, playful, and interactive exhibitions. Not far from here, the Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet (optional; if you're still motivated), inaugurated in June 2020, invites visitors to plunge into the Swiss manufacturer’s cultural universe of past, present, and future.

Afterward, the beautiful caves of Vallorbe are waiting for you to be discovered, before your guide takes you to a hidden restaurant in the Jura mountains with great cheese and local dishes and a perfect view of Lake Geneva and the Mont Blanc (Europe's highest mountains).

Day 12: Montreux → Geneva

Follow the northern shoreline to Geneva, home of the UN, ICRC, and numerous other NGOs. Depending on your interest and time until departure, we are happy to organize a guided tour through the UN or CERN (only bookable on-site).

We are confident that this itinerary will provide some exclusive memories for you and your family until it is time to say: "Ade, Au revoir, ciao and hope to CYou again in Switzerland"
