Day 1: Arrival in Zurich
Your rental car can be picked up directly at the airport.
Motel One is a design hotel in a listed building in the center of Zurich. The famous shopping street "Bahnhofstrasse" and the old town of Zurich are only in short walking distance.
With an early arrival and enough energy on your side, an excursion to the Rhine falls, Europes biggest waterfall, could also be an option.
Day 2: Zurich → Montreux
To explore entire Switzerland you start with a driving day to western Switzerland and arrive in Montreux. But not just an ordinary drive - you will have many opportunities to stop by.
Aargau: The cultural heart of Northern Switzerland. With its many museums, castles and Roman history, it is always worth implementing longer and shorter pauses here.
Bern: The bear is not only the symbol of Switzerland's capital, bears actually live in the heart of the city. Stroll around in Bern's old town which is part of the UNESCO world heritage and visit the bear pit.
Gruyère: Save some appetite for what is coming next. First of all this medieval town is home to the world-famous Gruyère AOP cheese. Visit one of the many cheeseries to get more insight. Also the chocolate museum of Caillier is just around the corner. Go on a delicious tour end explore more about the secrets of Swiss chocolate.
Day 2: Montreux → Zermatt
If you haven't found the time to walk along the shores of Geneva, you might want to start the day with this before heading deep into the alps and the mountain resorts. Visit the famous Chateau de Chillon or the statue of Freddy Mercury.
One castle is not enough? Stop by in Sion and explore the Castle of Tourbillon and Valère. In case of bad weather, we would recommend the Underground Lake of St. Leonard.
Don't loos too much time on the way, as the best is yet to come. Car-free Zermatt situated on the foot of Switzerland's natural landmark, the Matterhorn, is an absolute outdoor paradise. We will provide you with some hike suggestions that match your level of fitness.
Day 3:
Day 4: Zermatt → Interlaken:
Have you ever been in a tunnel, on a train, in your car? Well, today is the day. When crossing the alps to Interlaken there is no shorter way than the train that goes through the Lötschberg tunnel.
On the other side, unreal beautiful lakes will await you in the Kandervalley. Lake Oeschinen or Blue Lake can be reached easily. Especially Lake Oeschinen provides many opportunities to go for longer and shorter hikes with spectacular sceneries.
Be aware that at this time of the year and altitude there is a high chance of snow even in the valley.
Day 5: Interlaken & Jungfrau region:
The cable car up to the peak of the Männlichen will be implemented into your travel package. From here you will have the best view of the notorious Eiger North Face and with the possibility of taking a short hike for a better understanding of what was the Alps' last big climbing challenge and its tragedies.
Optional: Jungfraujoch
This experience will take your breath away. The view on the Alps' largest glacier - the Aletsch, as well as the surrounding four thousand meter peaks can only be described as stunning. Standing on the Jungfraujoch 3,454 meters above sea level, you can feel it from your first step: this is a different world.
Day 6: Interlaken → Lucerne
Before arriving in Lucerne we would like to show you something special: The Glasi Hergiswil is the only remaining glasswork in Switzerland where glass is still blown and shaped by hand. Discover how glass is manufactured and watch the glassblowers work with your own eyes.
From there it is only a short ride to Lucerne. It ranks amongst the world's prettiest cities and is rich in sights and attractions.
Early bird suggestion: A little detour to the Aare gorge or mt. Titilis
Day 7: Lucerne - Zurich
Depending on when your flight departs, we will take you on a boat ride on one of Lucerne's historic ships and might add another surprise or two to your trip if time permits.
Your rental can be dropped off directly at the airport and leaves you with many unforgettable moments from Switzerland.
