Trip Itinerary:

We kindly ask for your understanding that the final tour itinerary including our detailed recommendations can only be provided after your confirmation and down payment.

Day 1: Arrival in Zurich → Bern

As discussed you will leave Switzerlands biggest city behind you and stay your first night in our capital Bern. Trains depart very regulary between Zurich Airport and Bern and are the most convinient way to get to Bern. Check out the timetables here.

Your hotel is only a stone throw away from the maintrainstation and is right at the start of Berns historical old town which is also part of the UNESCO world heritage.

1 Night | The Bristol Bern

Day 2: Bern → Montreux

The bear is not just the symbol of Bern, bears actually live in the heart of the city. Take a stroll through the capital, along the parliament to get to the bear pit. With mild temperatures the bears come out before they will finally go on their winter hibernation. In any case the view from the pit on the old town and the sorrounding Aare river is fantastic.

Around lunchtime Bjorn will pick you up to explore some less touristy spots in western Switzerland. Our first stop won't be far to explore the old town of Morten, the rampart walls and try a regional delicassy - the Nidelcake of Morat.

In the afternoon you will the chance to discover the caves of Vallorbe, in our opinion the most beautiful cave in Switzerland, before we will make our way to Montreux for the night.

1 Night | Montreux

Day 3: Montreux → Gstaad

Before we leave Montreux, take a walk along the shores of Lake Geneva and if you are interested, explore the famous Castle of Chillon.

Today is all about Switzerlands world known chocolate and cheese. Go on an insightful and delicous tour in the Maison Cailler. Later on Bjorn will take you on a short hike in the Gstaad area for an outdoor fondue experience.

1 Night | Gstaad

Study Trip

Day 4: Gstaad → Zermatt

Depending on the weather conditions we might stop in the Kandervalley to explore either the beautiful Lake Blue or Lake Oeschinen. Both are them breathtaking.

Have you ever been in a van, on a train, in tunnel? The Lötschberg car-train will bring us into the Vallais where Bjorn will leave you at the train station to Zermatt which you can then explore on your own.

Optional: If the weather conditions are good, we highly recommend you to take cable car up to the Glacier Paradise. One of the highlights is certainly the platform with a view over 38 four-thousand-meter peaks and 14 glaciers of the Swiss, Italian and French Alps.

2 Nights | Zermatt

Day 5: Zermatt

Explore Zermatt with its many shorter and longer hike possibilities as well as its alpine flair throughout the village. A visit to the Gorner Gorge is always or a the famous train ride along the Gronergrat is always stunning and in case of bad weather, the Matterhorn museum will provide some entertainment.

Optional: Not close enough to the Matterhorn? Jump on a helicopter and discover a unique view of the Weisshorn, Zinalrothorn, Dent Blanche, Matterhorn, Theodulpass,  Breithorn, and Gornergrat.

Day 6: Zermatt → Lucerne

Unfortunately wether the Aletsch glacier nor the ice cave in the Rhône glacier can be visited at this time of the year. The glacier express isn't operating as well.

Therefore a train ride back to central Switzerland is the best solution. With good weather you can explore one of the many mountains such as Pilatus, the Stanserhorn or the queen of all mountains the Rigi

In case of bad weather Lucerne and Schwyz offer many museums to discover more about Switzerland and its history which is formed in this area.

Day 7: Lucerne → Zurich Airport

A direct train connection to Zurich airport will bring you on time for your departure. We are convinced that this trip will add many great memories from Switzerland.
