Trip Itinerary:

We kindly ask for your understanding that the final tour itinerary including our detailed recommendations can only be provided after your confirmation and down payment.

Day 1: Arrival in Zurich → Zermatt

A little more than 3 hours and only two interchanges, Zürich and Zermatt (via Bern) are very well connected and brings you to the furthest place in your trip (Zermatt is 100% car-free).

Bern's cute little Old Town (Altstadt) is both convenient and enjoyable to explore by foot, with many streets restricted to pedestrians and public transportation. The Old Town spans from the Nydeggbrücke in the east to the Käfigturm, a tower that was once a city gate, in the west, on a narrow steep hillside.

Enjoy the afternoon in Zermatt and recover from your long journey. Your room with Matterhorn view, Switzerland's natural landmark, invites you to just have a little beverage with a view!

Day 2: Zermatt

Gornergrat Train (included): Surrounded by no fewer than 29 peaks above 4,000 meters, such as the majestic Matterhorn and the Dufourspitze as well as the third-longest glacier of the Alps, Gornergrat rewards visitors with unparalleled views.

Very popular is the 5 lakes hike for a perfect reflection of the surrounding mountains.

Day 3: Zermatt

Get ready to climb (hike) your first 4 000m peak - the Breithorn. This tour is a perfect way to get a sense of high Alpine air for the first time, but only for surefooted and experienced hikers accompanied by a mountain guide. In the early morning, you take the cable car to the Matterhorn glacier paradise at 3,883 m from where you can see 38 four-thousand-meter peaks and 14 glaciers.

And what an accomplishment to celebrate 40 years of marriage!

Guided & Self-Guided

Day 4: Zermatt → Montreux

Continuing your train ride along the Valais (Valley) the language will change from German to French. Arriving at the Montreux Riviera you can enjoy the rest of the day on the shores of Lake Geneva.

In the afternoon we organize a degustation tour through the vine terraces of  Lavaux (another UNESCO world heritage). For your kids, there will be a possible alternative with fruit juice and snacks.

Day 5: Montreux (Day Excursion):

A visit to the medieval Chillon Castle is always worth it. Follow the northern shoreline to Geneva, home of the UN, ICRC, and numerous other NGOs. Depending on your interest and time until departure, we are happy to organize a guided tour through the UN.

CERN - Find out more about the Big Bang! (tours are free of charge, but available only on-site).

Discover the largest particle physics laboratory in the World. There are many options to visit this giant of science. Two permanent exhibitions, guided tours and a cycle route engage you in the discovery of particle physics.

Day 6: Montreux → Grindelwald: (with private driver-guide)

Today another magnificent train ride is awaiting you and everything will be about treating your taste buds. Your guide will pick up your luggage from your hotel and awaits you on the other side of the train line. From Montreux, you will take the Golden Pass to get to the Maison Caillier. A tour through the history of Swiss chocolate incl. a degustation will make you understand what Swiss chocolate is all about.

Your guide will then combine food and hiking/walking - you get yourself a prepacked fondue rucksack and hike/walk to one of the giant fondue pots (seating areas) to enjoy your delicious fondue. The area of Gstaad and Zweisimmen is known for its cheese delicacies.

Day 7: Grindelwald:

Jungfraujoch: This day is reserved to explore the Jungfraujoch: Icy air sweeps over your face, snow crunches underfoot, and the panorama almost takes your breath away: on one side the view of the Swiss Mittelland towards the Vosges, on the other the Aletsch Glacier, lined with four thousand meter peaks. Standing on the Jungfraujoch 3,454 meters above sea level, you can feel it with your first step: this is a different world. It's one you have to experience.

Paragliding (included): After a short introduction, you and your pilot run a few steps together down a gentle slope and suddenly you glide silently into the air. The flight takes you high above the Grindelwald valley whilst the majestic mountain scenery of Wetterhorn, Schreckhorn and Eiger Northface always lies in front of you. An unforgettable experience for all those who are enthusiastic about the idea of flying!

Day 8: Grindelwald → Lucerne: (with private driver-guide)

There is no better way to cross the blueish Lake Brienz than by boat. Go on a short walk to explore the beautiful Giessbach Falls.

In Haslital close to Meiringen the Aare River has cut a gorge in the limestone that is 200 metres deep in some places. Thanks to the walkways and tunnels, it is easy to hike through the entire gorge.

Day 9: Lucerne:

Lucerne's Old Town is rated every year among the most beautiful towns in the world. Stroll around before you we will invite you on a boat cruise on Lake Lucerne.  If you are interested in the history of Switzerland you might want to hop off and hike part of the Switzerland trail or visit the meadow where the legendary oath of Rüttli was taken and therefore a confederation of the first three cantons was formed.

The oldest cogwheel train of Switzerland up to the top of Mount Rigi, the queen of all mountains is included as well.

Day 10: Lucerne (Day Excursion to Lugano):

Lucerne and Lugano are very well connected with direct trains in less than 2 hours.

Lugano is the largest town in the Italian-speaking canton of Switzerland. The city with its Mediterranean flair lies in a bay on the northern side of Lake Lugano. Stop in Bellinzona and discover the 3 Fortresses of Bellinzona and enjoy "italian" Pizza in Switzerland!

Day 11: Lucerne → Zurich Airport:

The airport is very well connected from Lucerne which will allow you to maybe get some souvenirs or just enjoy a hot coffee on the shores of the Lake. A private driver will pick you up for departure from the airport.

We are confident that this itinerary will provide some exclusive memories for you and your family until it is time to say: "Ade, Au revoir, ciao and hope to CYou again in Switzerland"
