The House of Museums in Olten

The House of Museums accommodates the Olten Museum of Nature and the Historical Museum of Olten as well as the Archaeological Museum of the Canton of Solothurn. The museums are owned by the city and the canton, respectively. They work in close collaboration but are independent with regard to their collections, exhibitions, and educational services.

The main thematic interest of the House of Museums focuses on the archaeology within the Canton of Solothurn, the history of the city of Olten and the canton from their beginnings up to the present day, and on the natural history and biodiversity on a local, regional, and cantonal level.
