Trip Itinerary:
We kindly ask for your understanding that the final tour itinerary including our detailed recommendations can only be provided after your confirmation and down payment.
Day 1: Arrival in Zurich
We will organize a private transfer from Zurich Airport to your hotel. The Storchen is located in the heart of the old town - perfect for your day of arrival to still walk around, stretch out your legs after your flight and get an impression of Switzerland's biggest city.
Depending on your time of arrival and motivation you might be interested to take an excursion to the biggest waterfalls in Europe - the Rhine Falls, which are easily accessible by train.
Day 2: Zurich → Hof Zuort
On your way to the Alps, you will pass the beautiful Lake Walen from where the mighty seven Churfirsten arise. A short boat cruise will bring you to the Seerenbachfalls, the highest waterfalls in Switzerland. It is only a short walk to get closer to this natural spectacle. A small farm restaurant invites to linger around.
When we were talking on the phone you mentioned that you would like to get one night off the beaten tracks and that romantic places would be something too, to post-celebrate your wife's 50th birthday. Here we go! The Swiss historic Hotel Hof Zuort is a magical place - the idea is to turn off your cell phones and hike (around 1 h) into a side valley of the Lower Engadine. Your luggage will be picked up so you can fully enjoy this remote place. The intact unity of fauna and flora still exists here: roe deer, red deer, ibex, chamois, and the bearded vulture can all be spotted regularly and observed with the appropriate patience and optics.
Day 3: Hof Zuort → St. Moritz
The Engadin Valley is a true nature and outdoor paradise. St. Moritz was not without reason the birthplace of winter tourism and hosted the Winter Olympics twice. Despite its cosmopolitan atmosphere, it is the culture and tradition of this luxurious Alpine resort that has made it what it is today.
We have plenty of hiking suggestions for every fitness level. Renting an (E-) mountain bike is a fun way to explore the Bernina valley a little closer.
Day 4: St. Moritz & Bernina valley
Go on a train ride on the Bernina tracks to Alp Grüm or even to Tirano in Italy. Offering breathtaking views on the surrounding peaks and glaciers this UNESCO world heritage doesn't leave any wishes open. Also don't miss taking the cable car to Diavolezza.
For cheese lovers: Have a break at the alpine cheesery Morteratsch and follow every step of making this swiss delicacy with your own eyes.

Day 5: St. Moritz → Zermatt
Today we will add another highlight to your travel memories: The famous Glacier Express train ride. Over its entire length, the Glacier Express leads over 291 bridges and through 91 tunnels over the Swiss Alps.
Sit back and relax while the train winds its way through remote valleys, past sheer rock faces, idyllic mountain villages, over the Landwasser Viaduct, and through the Rhine Gorge, the Grand Canyon of Switzerland. A 3-course menu rounds everything up.
Day 6: Zermatt
Get ready to climb (hike) your first 4 000m peak - the Breithorn. This tour is a perfect way to get a sense of high Alpine air for the first time, but only for surefooted and experienced hikers accompanied by a mountain guide. In the early morning, you take the cable car to the Matterhorn glacier paradise at 3,883 m. The climb to the top and the descent afterward lasts about three hours depending on the conditions. A visit to the glacier paradise with its surrounding peaks will complete the day before it is time to head back to Zermatt and welcome your children.
*This day could also be swapped if your children are interested in climbing up the Breithorn as well
Day 7: Zermatt
A great day to start the day is to get up early and enjoy the sunrise on the 5-lakes-hike, a medium 2:30 hour hike. Later on today you can also enjoy a train ride on the Gorner Grat. My personal recommendation on a hot day is the Gorner Gorge.
Optional: To get the most out of your alpine experience I could add a helicopter ride to your travel itinerary. On this scenic flight, you will enjoy a unique view of the Weisshorn, Zinalrothorn, Dent Blanche, Matterhorn, Theodulpass, Breithorn, Liskamm, Monte Rosa massif, Dufourspitze, Rimpfischhorn, Allalinhorn, Alphubel and Dom.
Day 8: Zermatt → Montreux
Continuing your train ride along the Valais (Valley) the language will change from German to French. Arriving at the Montreux Riviera you can enjoy the afternoon on the shores of Lake Geneva. A visit to the medieval Chillon Castle is always worth it or we could organize a degustation tour through the vine terraces of Lavaux (another UNESCO world heritage).
Day 9: Montreux → Lake Brienz
Today another magnificent train ride is awaiting you - the Golden Pass. Personally, this is my favorite train line, even though it is short compared to the Glacier Express. Making its way up the steep mountain ridge you shouldn't miss a single moment! These tracks are also the only way crossing the nature parc of Gruyère - cars have to make a detour for hours to experience what you can do, stressless in one of the baroque wagons of the Golden Pass.
Today I recommend combining food and hiking - get yourself a prepacked fondue rucksack and hike to one of the giant fondue pots (seating areas) to enjoy your delicious fondue. The area of Gstaad and Zweisimmen is known for its cheese delicacies.
Your hotel directly in front of the Giessbach Falls can be easily reached by boat from Interlaken.
Day 9: Jungfrau Region
It is time to meet the royal three - Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. Depending on the thermal conditions we will schedule your Paragliding flight (30-45 minute flight from Schilthorn to Interlaken or Stechelberg). As this experience is already mind-blowing I would suggest keeping it calm before or after your flight. Take a walk in Lauterbrunnen to the famous waterfall and/or on the Männlichen (the small servant of royal three) and get an impression of the last alpine climbing challenge, the Eiger North Face.
Day 10: Lake Brienz → Lucerne
Lucerne's Old Town is rated every year among the most beautiful towns in the world. Stroll around before enjoying a scenic boat cruise on Lake Lucerne. Winding its way through the mountain scenery, it is a perfect way to get some views of famous mountains like the Stanserhorn, Mount Rigi and Pilatus.
Your hotel is located conveniently close to the oldest cogwheel train of Switzerland up Mount Rigi on the shores of the Lake.
Day 11: Lake Lucerne
An active way to start your day would be renting a stand-up paddleboard or a small boat for yourself (if you have the proper license) and enjoying some time on the water.
If you are interested in the history of Switzerland you might want to cross the lake and hike part of the Switzerland trail or visit the meadow where the legendary oath of Rüttli was taken and therefore the confederation of the first three cantons was formed.
Day 12: Lucerne → Zurich Airport
The airport is very well connected from Lucerne which will allow you to maybe get some souvenirs or just enjoy a hot coffee on the shores of the Lake.
We are confident that this itinerary will provide some exclusive memories for you until it is time to say: "Ade, Au revoir, ciao and hope to CYou again in Switzerland"
