Trip Itinerary:
We kindly ask for your understanding that the final tour itinerary including our detailed recommendations can only be provided after your confirmation and down payment.
Day 1: Arrival in Zurich
We will organize a private transfer from Zurich Airport to your hotel. Your hotel is located in the heart of the old town - perfect for your day of arrival to still walk around, stretch out your legs after your flight and get an impression of Switzerland's biggest city.
Depending on your time of arrival and motivation you might be interested to take an excursion to the biggest waterfalls in Europe - the Rhine Falls, which are easily accessible by train.
Day 2: Zurich to Lucerne
Your guide will pick you up at your hotel for a first stop that will especially entertain your kids: Dive into the chocolate museum of Lindt and explore the secret about Swiss chocolate. Later you will arrive in Lucerne - its Old Town is rated every year among the most beautiful towns in the world. Also, it is the cultural heart of Switzerland as the first Swiss confederation was formed on the shores of this majestic Lake. Surrounded by the might mountains Pilatus, Stanserhorn and Rigi you get a first impression of what is awaiting you in the next few days.
Day 3: Zurich to Grindelwald
Shortly after leaving Lucerne, we would like to show you something special: The Glasi Hergiswil is the only remaining glasswork in Switzerland where glass is still blown and shaped by hand. Discover how glass is manufactured and watch the glassblowers work with your own eyes.
Entering the Bernese Oberland, your hotel lies on the foot of the almighty Eiger Northface. This spectacular natural wonder was long considered to be the last alpine challenge. Your guide will take you to the ski resort for your first winter experience. He/She will accompany you for a fun luge/sledding ride. We'll guarantee you this is so much more fun than it sounds in the first place.

Day 4: Grindelwald to Zermatt
In the morning you'll have the chance to visit the famous Jungfraujoch: Icy air sweeps over your face, snow crunches underfoot, and the panorama almost takes your breath away: on one side the view of the Swiss Mittelland towards the Vosges, on the other the Aletsch Glacier, lined with four thousand meter peaks. Standing on the Jungfraujoch 3,454 meters above sea level, you can feel it with your first step: this is a different world. It's one you have to experience. Especially interesting for your kids will be the glacier sculptures.
Through the Lötschbergtunnel we will arrive in the Zermatt. The car-free town of is located at the foot of the Matterhorn. Your guide will say goodbye here - an electronic hotel shuttle will pick you up from the train station in town.
Day 5: Zermatt
Time to meet the dogs! It starts at almost 3000 meters above sea level. A guide will take you from Trockener Steg to the nearby one-kilometer-long circuit. There you will get to know the huskies. The experienced musher (husky owner) tells you interesting facts about the dogs while you pet them. Then the animals are hooked up to the sled and off they go! While you enjoy the ride, the musher steers the sled and calls out commands to the animals. Meanwhile, the guide takes photos of you.
For the afternoon I would recommend you either go to Europe's highest cable car station with its glacier paradise or take a ride on the gorner grat train.
Day 6: Zermatt to St. Moritz
Today we will add another highlight to your travel memories: The famous Glacier Express train ride. Over its entire length, the Glacier Express leads over 291 bridges and through 91 tunnels over the Swiss Alps. Sit back and relax while the train winds its way through remote valleys, past sheer rock faces, idyllic mountain villages, over the Landwasser Viaduct, and through the Rhine Gorge, the Grand Canyon of Switzerland. A 3-course menu rounds everything up.
You will be picked up in St. Moritz with a private shuttle.
Day 7 and 8: Engadin on the slopes
The Engadin Valley is a true nature and outdoor paradise. St. Moritz was not without reason the birthplace of winter tourism and hosted the Winter Olympics twice. Despite its cosmopolitan atmosphere, it is the culture and tradition of this luxurious Alpine resort that has made it what it is today.
These 2 days are reserved for you to get on the slopes. I would organize an instructor for you and your husband and a skiing class for your kids.
From here on we will check out further itinerary planning with my colleague from Italy.
