Trip Itinerary:

We kindly ask for your understanding that the final tour itinerary including our detailed recommendations can only be provided after your confirmation and down payment.

Day 1: Zürich Airport → St. Moritz (guided / private driver and bus)

Your guide will meet you at the Airport and take you to the Rhine Valley. On your way to the Alps, we will pass the beautiful Lake Walen from where the mighty seven Churfirsten arise. Via the mountain pass Julier we'll enter the Engadin valley.

If time allows we'll stop by in Liechtenstein and/or if you would like to do some shopping / equip yourselves for your next days in the mountains, you might want to stop by at the Landquart fashion outlet or stop by at the Heidiland.

Day 2: St. Moritz (self-guided / public transport system)

The Engadin Valley is a true nature and outdoor paradise. St. Moritz was not without reason the birthplace of winter tourism and hosted the Winter Olympics twice. Despite its cosmopolitan atmosphere, it is the culture and tradition of this luxurious Alpine resort that has made it what it is today.

Go on a train ride on the Bernina tracks to Alp Grüm (easy hike). Offering breathtaking views on the surrounding peaks and glaciers this UNESCO world heritage doesn't leave any wishes open.

For the active family members: We have plenty of hiking suggestions for every fitness level. Our tip: Rent yourself an (E-) mountain bike to explore the Bernina valley a little closer.

For cheese lovers: Have a break at the alpine cheesery Morteratsch and follow every step of making this swiss delicacy with your own eyes

Guided & Self-Guided

Day 3: St. Moritz → Zermatt (self-guided / Glacier Express / private shuttle)

Today we will add another highlight to your travel memories: The famous Glacier Express train ride. Over its entire length, the Glacier Express leads over 291 bridges and through 91 tunnels over the Swiss Alps.

On your trip from St Moritz, the train winds its way through remote valleys, past sheer rock faces, idyllic mountain villages, over the Landwasser Viaduct, and through the Rhine Gorge, the Grand Canyon of Switzerland.

Your hotels / apartment host will offer you a shuttle to and from the train station.

Day 4: Zermatt

You will have the chance to discover Zermatt on the foot of Switzerland's natural landmark - the Matterhorn. Very popular is the 5 lakes hike in the morning to get a perfect reflection of the surrounding mountains.

Also, take up the cable car to the Glacier Paradise, Europe's highest cable car station (3883 meters). One of the highlights is certainly the platform with a view over 38 four-thousand-meter peaks and 14 glaciers of the Swiss, Italian and French Alps.

Optional: Get ready to climb (hike) your first 4 000m peak - the Breithorn. This tour is a perfect way to get a sense of high Alpine air for the first time, but only for surefooted and experienced hikers accompanied by a mountain guide. In the early morning, you take the cable car to the Matterhorn glacier paradise at 3,883 m from where you can see 38 four-thousand-meter peaks and 14 glaciers.

CHF 930 for private guided tour +  CHF 9 per harness and crampons hire

Day 5: Zermatt → Montreux (guided / public transport system)

Your guide will meet you in Zermatt for the rest of your journey and give you a hand with the luggage: Continuing your train ride along the Valais (Valley) the language will change from German to French. Arriving at the Montreux Riviera you can enjoy the rest of the day on the shores of Lake Geneva.

In the afternoon we organize a private tour through Castle Chillon, which will take you on a fantastic journey through time and space at Chillon, uncovering the mysteries behind hidden passageways, the underground Gothic vaulted ceilings, and the prison where the famous Bonivard was kept. Following your tour, why not gather around for a friendly glass of our red or white Clos de Chillon, made from grapes grown in the castle’s very own vineyard.

Day 6: Montreux → Lucerne (guided / private driver and bus)

The bus will take over your luggage before another magnificent train ride is awaiting you - the Golden Pass. Personally, this is my favorite train line, even though it is short compared to the Glacier Express. Making its way up the steep mountain ridge you shouldn't miss a single moment! These tracks are also the only way crossing the nature parc of Gruyère - cars have to make a detour for hours to experience what you can do, stressless in one of the baroque wagons of the Golden Pass.

On the other side our bus driver will pick us up again and bring us safely to the Maison Cailler - A tour through the history of Swiss chocolate incl. a degustation will make you understand what Swiss chocolate is all about.

For the afternoon we would suggest strolling around in Bern's cute Old-Town which is also a UNESCO world heritage site; and are you aware that the bear is not only the symbol of the canton? Bears live in the city center in a pit right on the other riverside of the old town.

In the evening will make a reservation for a sunset boat cruise on Lake Lucerne (dinner on board).

Day 7: Lucerne (self-guided / public transport system)

Sitting on the foot of the mountain Pilatus, Lucerne is often voted as one of the prettiest cities in the world, featuring a colorful old town and 14th-century city walls, as well as covered bridges including the iconic Kapellbrücke with its 17th-century art.

Today is reserved to visit the house mountain Pilatus. Commissioned in 1889, a gradient of up to 48 percent, about 30 minutes travel time: that is the steepest cogwheel railway in the world in figures. Meter by meter it scales the way from Alpnachstad to Pilatus Kulm, passing alpine meadows and striking rock formations.

Day 8: Lucerne → Zurich Airport (self-guided / public transport system)

The airport is very well connected from Lucerne which will allow you to maybe get some souvenirs or just enjoy a hot coffee on the shores of the Lake.

We are confident that this itinerary will provide some exclusive memories for you and your family until it is time to say: "Ade, Au revoir, ciao and hope to CYou again in Switzerland"
