Tamina Gorge

The Tamina Gorge is a historical destination known for its warm thermal waters that have made Bad Ragaz famous. The healing properties of the spring waters were first discovered by hunters in 1240, and for centuries people have come to bathe in them. Initially, individuals would bathe in depressions in the rocks, but from 1350 wooden bathhouses were built. Accessing the gorge was difficult, but today it is much simpler.

From Bad Ragaz, it is a one-hour walk to the Altes Bad Pfäfers where a 450-meter tunnel leads to spring-fed water grottos. The Convent and Bath Museum and light show in the evenings provide a unique experience to explore the rich history of the area.
