Trip Itinerary:
We kindly ask for your understanding that the final tour itinerary including our detailed recommendations can only be provided after your confirmation and down payment.
Day 1: Arrival in Zurich
Your rental car can be picked up directly at the airport or Zurich center.
Your hotel is situated conveniently close to the famous Bahnhofstrasse in the heart of Zurich's Old Town. We will provide you with a small map for a city stroll through Zurich.
Day 2: Zurich → Solothurn
You leave Switzerland's biggest city behind you and turn west towards Solothurn. Not long after you left Zurich you will enter the canton of Aargau. With its many castles and the national park Jurapark Aargau, there is a lot to discover, even though it might not be seen at first sight.
We show you where to go to have a great day in this underrated area.
Day 3: Solothurn → Kämmeribodenbad
On your way to the Kämmeribodenbad, which marks the entrance to the UNESCO biosphere Entlebuch, you will drive through the Emmental. The biggest city Burgdorf is always worth a visit. Short and idyllic walks can be found all over the place. Hungry? Why not visit one of the many cheese makers in the Emmental valley?

Day 4: Kämmeribodenbad
This is probably one of the calmest places you will find in entire Switzerland. Explore the many facets of the Emmental and Entlebuch. Whether a hike across green meadows and through shady forests, a bike tour through the hilly mountain landscape, or participation in a cultural event - this area offers something for everyone
Day 5: Kämmeribidenbad → Vitznau
From Kämmeriboden you will enjoy a great ride to Lucern and Vitznau. The biosphere Entlebuch will make you stop all along for pictures or short walks.
When passing Lucerne we would highly recommend you a little detour to the Glasi in Hergiswil - the last traditional glassblowing factory.
Arriving in Vitznau your hotel, one of the Swiss historic hotels, is located on the shore directly at the foot of Mount Rigi. If time permits a ride up on the historic cogwheel train offers spectacular views on Lake Lucerne and the surrounding peaks.
Day 6: Vitznau→ Glarus
You might want to start this day with a swim or a boat ride on one of the historic ships on Lake Lucerne. It is also a great opportunity to visit the Rüttliwiese (meadow) to discover more about Swiss history as this is where Switzerland was founded. Maybe even learn the legendary oath taken at the foundation of the Old Swiss Confederacy by the representatives of the three founding cantons, Uri, Schwyz, and Unterwalden, traditionally dated to 1291.
On your way to Glarus you will pass along spectacular sceneries and we will show you a short hike to one of Switzerland's hidden waterfalls.
Day 7: Glarus → Toggenburg
Along your way to Toggenburg you will pass the Lake Walen. Take the opportunity to go on a boat ride to discover Switzerland's highest waterfalls. We show you the best way to do so.
Later you will enter the beautiful Toggenburg, which we would call "real" Switzerland. Most likely lots of cattle will be waiting for you, as well as possibilities for short or longer walks on or off the Klangweg (sound trail) with 27 instruments to play with. Here in the small but beautiful valley between Säntis (highest mountains of eastern Switzerland) and the seven Churfirsten nature remains untouched and is known as an idyllic world for hiking enthusiasts, nature lovers, and those seeking relaxation.
Day 8: Toggenburg
Benefit from a full day in this valley. We will include a cable car ride up to the Chäserugg. Part of the magnificent seven Churfirsten mountains it is the best spot for scenic views and a short walk along the ridge. With clear weather, you might even see some 4000m peaks along the horizon deep in the alps.
Down in the valley you might want to discover the Thurfalls or go on a barefoot hike? This is a different experience when it comes to walking and can be done by everyone.
Day 9: Toggenburg → Lake Constance
Interested in another hidden spot? We show you a short hike in one of the canyons of the Appenzell. From here to Lake Constance you will automatically pass by St. Gallen. Discover another UNESCO world heritage, the Abbey district of St. Gallen. Its magnificent Baroque cathedral forms a unique historical ensemble. The Abbey Library - with Switzerland's most beautiful hall and ancient books will fascinate you.
To call it a day you might want to take a swim or stroll along the shores of the Lake.
The castle hotel Wartegg is an experience itself.
Day 10: Lake Constance → Zurich
One of the best things about this tour will come last. Although it is not off the beaten tracks the Rhine falls, Europes biggest Waterfalls will not disappoint you. Get on a boat ride to understand the full power of this natural landmark.
If time permits you might also want to slender around in Stein am Rhein - we would call it one of the cutest towns in this area.
Your rental car can be dropped off back at the airport.
