Day 1: Arrival in Zurich → Toggenburg
Your rental can be picked up directly at the airport in Zurich. The beautiful Toggenburg is only about 1,5 hours of driving away from Switzerland's biggest city and is still one of the hidden gems in the eastern part of Switzerland.
Optional: With an early arrival you could add a little detour on your first day to explore Europes biggest waterfalls - the Rhinefalls. Get on a boat ride to truly discover the power of this natural spectacle.
2 Nights
Day 2: Toggenburg
The choice is yours. Hundreds of kilometers of shorter and longer hikes are only waiting for you to walk on. We will share our most enjoyable ones with you. Walk on the top of the magnificent Churfirsten or go on a hike that is especially for your ears.
Optional: This area got more and more equipped for mountain bikers during the last years. Rent an (E-)bike and ride one of the many trails around.
Day 3: Toggenburg → Lucerne
It will not be easy to leave the traditional Toggenburg valley behind us, but today it is time to enter the cultural heart of Switzerland. On your way to Lucerne, there are plenty of sights that will find your interest The Caves of Baar and the Läderrach house of chocolate will be included in your tour package. Discover also Switzerland highest waterfalls.
In the afternoon you will get the chance to explore Lucerne's old town and go on a boat ride on Lake Lucerne. Your hotel is located directly on the shores of the lake.

Day 4: Lucerne → Grindelwald
Sitting on the foot of the mountain Pilatus, Lucerne is often voted as one of the prettiest cities in the world, featuring a colorful old town and 14th-century city walls, as well as covered bridges including the iconic Kapellbrücke with its 17th-century art. Your guide will take you on a city stroll to discover this gem in the heart of Switzerland.
Shortly after we are out of Lucerne we would like to show you something special: The Glasi Hergiswil is the only remaining glasswork in Switzerland where glass is still blown and shaped by hand. Discover how glass is manufactured and watch the glassblowers work with your own eyes.
Just a short ride away the Aare gorge awaits you. It was formed over thousands of years by the Aare Glacier. Discover, feel and experience a natural wonder up close.
2 Nights
Day 5: Grindelwald
Take the cable car up to the Männlichen peak for a short hike. This mountain lies directly on the foot of the notorious Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. Get a better understanding of what was the Alps' last big climbing challenge and its tragedies.
Optional: Jungfraujoch - this experience will take your breath away. The view on the Alps' largest glacier - the Aletsch, as well as the surrounding four thousand meter peaks can only be described as stunning. Standing in the snow on the Jungfraujoch 3,454 meters above sea level, you can feel it from your first step: this is a different world.
Day 6: Grindelwald→ Zermatt
Via the Kandervalley with its beautiful Lake Oeschinen and Lake Blue which invite for easier walks and time linger, the Lötschbergtunnel brings you into the canton of Valais and a little further south to Zermatt. Situated on the foot of Switzerland's natural landmark, the Matterhorn, this car-free town is an absolute outdoor paradise. We will provide you with some hike suggestions that match your level of fitness.
Optional and insider tip:
If you would like to admire the biggest glacier in the Alps, we would suggest you to take a little detour today to Bettmeralp instead of taken the train up to Jungfraujoch. Save some money and enjoy the glacier masses up close from the south side of the glacier. We show you how it's done.
2 Nights
Day 7: Zermatt:
No matter what kind of activity you are looking for - Zermatt can provide you with everything. Longer and shorter hikes on mountains ridges, breathtaking gorges, mountain biking or climb your first 4000m peak with a mountaineering guide. We share our most memorable hikes. If you would like to go on an expedition, a guide could be organized at short notice.
Optional: Not close enough to the Matterhorn? Take up the cable car to the Glacier Paradise, at Europe's highest cable car station (3883 meters). One of the highlights is certainly the platform with a view over 38 four-thousand-meter peaks and 14 glaciers of the Swiss, Italian and French Alps.
Day 8: Zermatt → Bern:
It is time to get back further north. With your trip coming to an and we would like to add a little more cultural experience to your travel memories.
Bern: The bear is not only the symbol of Switzerland's capital, bears actually live in the heart of the city. Stroll around in Bern's old town which is part of the UNESCO world heritage and visit the bear pit.

Day 9: Bern → Zurich airport
Depending of your time of departure we might add another highlight or two to your travel memories. Stroll around in Zurich's old town or through the cultural heart of Switzerland in the canton of Aargau before leaving this alpine paradise.
