Day 1: Arrival in Zurich

We will organize a private transfer from Zurich Airport to your hotel, located in the heart of the city, close to the famous Bahnhofstrasse (shopping district) and Zurich's Old Town - perfect for your day of arrival to go spontaneously for a short walk and get an impression of Switzerland's biggest city.

Day 2: Zurich:

A great way to discover Zurich and to learn a little more about its history are the Free Walking Tours.

The twin towers of the Grossmünster are not only Zurich's prominent landmark, visitors can also climb up the Karlsturm and enjoy a breathtaking view over the city.

Another great sight is Zurich's own house mountain which can easily be reached by train.

Self-Guided (Train)

Day 3: Zurich: Day Excursion to Rhine Falls & St. Gallen:

. The train takes you north to Europe's biggest waterfall - the Rhine Falls. By boat, you get on the Rock in the middle of the falls to understand the power of this natural spectacle.

From here you'll head to St. Gallen to discover the UNESCO world heritage Abbey district of St. Gallen. Ist magnificent Baroque cathedral forms a unique historical ensemble. The Abbey Library - with Switzerland's most beautiful hall and ancient books will fascinate you.

Day 4: Zurich to Grindelwald

Via our capital Bern, you will now make your way deep into the Alps. Stroll around in Bern's cute Old Town which is also a UNESCO world heritage site; and are you aware that the bear is not only the symbol of the canton? Bears live in the city center in a pit right on the other riverside of the old town (although they most likely will be in hibernation by the time of your arrival) - but Berns' cute shops and historic shops invite you to stay for a while. No worries about your luggage - it can be stored easily in a locker (a whole center in Bern) right inside the train station for an easy walk through the city.

Grindelwald is located on the foot of the notorious Eiger North Face. The last alpine challenge is feared and admired for centuries. Right next to it rise the snowy peaks of the Mönch and Jungfrau.

Day 5: Grindelwald:

This day is reserved to explore the Jungfraujoch: Icy air sweeps over your face, snow crunches underfoot, and the panorama almost takes your breath away: on one side the view of the Swiss Mittelland towards the Vosges, on the other the Aletsch Glacier, lined with four thousand meter peaks. Standing on the Jungfraujoch 3,454 meters above sea level, you can feel it with your first step: this is a different world. It's one you have to experience.

Day 6: Grindelwald:

Visit the valley of the 72 waterfalls, Lauterbrunnen, and enjoy one of the many hiking trails in the area (depending on the snow situation), e.g. a short walk behind the Staubern waterfall.

Day 7: Grindelwald:

Day at leisure

Day 8: Grindelwald → Lucerne

The ride through the Bernese Oberland is a highlight itself. Following several lakes, especially the blueish Lake Brienz has to be mentioned here, you'll first arrive in Lucerne. Sitting on the foot of the mountain Pilatus, Lucerne is often voted as one of the prettiest cities in the world, featuring a colorful old town and 14th-century city walls, as well as covered bridges including the iconic Kapellbrücke with its 17th-century art.

Day 9: Lucern

We'll organize a chocolate workshop in the morning: Have you always wanted to try your hand at being a chocolatier? Then it's time! During this making session in the heart of Lucerne a Chocolatiers will share their secret tips and knowledge about the origin of Cocoa and their handcrafting.

Hop on a boat and enjoy a scenic boat ride on Lake Lucerne. If you are interested in the history of Switzerland you might want to hop off and hike part of the Switzerland trail or visit the Rütli meadow. Nourished by Schiller's drama «William Tell», it is considered the historic place where in 1291 the oath of the Swiss Confederation was sworn and therefore a confederation of the first three cantons was formed.

We also recommend getting off the boat in Vitznau to take the oldest cogwheel train in Europe up Mount Rigi (included in your Swiss Travel Pass). But this is up to you.

Day 10: Lucerne → Zurich Airport

Zurich airport is very well connected from Lucerne which will allow you to maybe get some souvenirs or just enjoy a hot coffee on the shores of the Lake. If you are departing very early from Zurich airport we may need to go with another hotel because of the transfer boat.

We are confident that this itinerary will provide some exclusive memories for you and your family until it is time to say: "Ade, Au revoir, ciao and hope to CYou again in Switzerland"
