Day 1: Geneva → Montreux
Geneva's main train station is the closest to an Airport in the world (only 7 minutes via train) - perfect for your day of arrival. Leave your luggage behind (all Swiss train stations offer lockers) and discover Geneva.
Home of the UN, ICRC, and numerous other NGOs. Stroll through Geneva's Old Town, climb up the tower of the St. Pierre Cathedral and talk a walk along the shores in the English Garden to Geneva's landmark - the Jet d'eau. If you are anyhow into science: The CERN - Find out more about the Big Bang! (tours are free of charge, but available only on-site).
Follow the northern shoreline of Lake Geneva to get to Geneva itself where you can enjoy the afternoon on the shores of Lake Geneva.
Day 2: Montreux
Optional: If you'd like to experience the mountains for the first time: Rochers de Naye!
The picturesque ride rises up into the fresh mountain air. Climbing more than 1,600 meters in altitude, the railway passes fields, villages and forests. With increasing altitude, the narrow track along the slope offers ever-more spectacular views over Lake Geneva and the surrounding mountains.
For your taste buds: Trails through the UNESCO-listed World Heritage Lavaux vineyard terraces for all ages and with a whole range of levels of difficulty. Enjoy outstanding views of Lake Geneva and the Alps, with plenty of places to stop and take in the panorama – whilst enjoying a small glass of Chasselas wine, made with the region’s leading variety of grapes - even though its winter, the terraces themselves are worth to check them out.
As part of your travel arrangement we will include the entry into the Chateau Chillon: If ever a castle could fit the fairy-tale bill, the dashingly handsome Château de Chillon would be it, with its moat, double ramparts and riot of turrets and towers, plus knockout views of Lake Geneva and the French Alps.

Day 3: Montreux → Wengen
Today another magnificent train ride is awaiting you - the Golden Pass. Personally, this is my favorite train line, even though it is short compared to the Glacier Express. Making its way up the steep mountain ridge you shouldn't miss a single moment! These tracks are also the only way crossing the nature parc of Gruyère - cars have to make a detour for hours to experience what you can do, stressless in one of the baroque wagons of the Golden Pass.
Combine food and hiking - get yourself a prepacked fondue rucksack and hike on the prepared winter paths to one of the giant fondue pots (seating areas) to enjoy your delicious fondue. The area of Gstaad and Zweisimmen is known for its cheese delicacies.
Hands-free traveling: Don't worry about your luggage. We'll include a Luggage Express Service (leave your bags at your hotel reception until 9 am - it will get delivered on the same day to your new hotel between 6-11 pm).
Day 4: Wengen:
Jungfraujoch: Icy air sweeps over your face, snow crunches underfoot, and the panorama almost takes your breath away: on one side the view of the Swiss Mittelland towards the Vosges, on the other the Aletsch Glacier, lined with four thousand meter peaks. Standing on the Jungfraujoch 3,454 meters above sea level, you can feel it with your first step: this is a different world. It's one you have to experience.
Day 5: Wengen:
Located at 1.274 m above sea level at the foot of Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau, Wengen is a ski and snow paradise. Many prepared winter paths invite you to hike/walk around.
Lauterbrunnen is situated in one of the most impressive trough valleys in the Alps, between gigantic rock faces and mountain peaks. With ist 72 thundering waterfalls, secluded valleys, colorful alpine meadows and lonely mountain inns, the Lauterbrunnen Valley is one of the biggest nature conservation areas in Switzerland. Enjoy a walk through this beautiful town/valley and discover the highest free-falling waterfall of Staubern.
Day 6: Wengen→ Lucerne
The train ride through the Bernese Oberland is a highlight itself. Following several lakes, especially the blueish Lake Brienz has to be mentioned here, you'll first arrive in Lauterbrunnen.
Sitting on the foot of the mountain Pilatus, Lucerne is often voted as one of the prettiest cities in the world, featuring a colorful old town and 14th-century city walls, as well as covered bridges including the iconic Kapellbrücke with its 17th-century art.
We'd like to get you another extra sweet experience: The Aeschbach Chocolate world: Immerse yourself in a world of pleasure and experience the world of chocolate like you have never done before. Learn all about the history of chocolate and the production of our tempting house specialties on an interactive tour.
Day 7: Lucerne:
A boat cruise on the Lake which is included in your Swiss travel pass is a fantastic highlight for your last full day in Switzerland. If you are interested in the history of Switzerland you might want to hop off and hike part of the Switzerland trail or visit the meadow where the legendary oath of Rüttli was taken and therefore a confederation of the first three cantons was formed.
Included: The oldest cogwheel train of Switzerland up to the top of Mount Rigi, the queen of all mountains. Enjoy once more the scenery of the Alps and Lake Lucerne.
Day 8: Lucerne → Zurich Airport:
The airport is very well connected from Lucerne which will allow you to maybe get some souvenirs or just enjoy a hot coffee on the shores of the Lake.
We are confident that this itinerary will provide some exclusive memories for you and your family until it is time to say: "Ade, Au revoir, ciao and hope to CYou again in Switzerland"
