Get deep into "real" Switzerland" on this customizable 5 day round trip from Zurich. Discover Switzerland's beauty, while visiting medieval towns, see how original Swiss cheese is made, and take several short walks for a closer look into our nature. One of the highlights of this tour is the ride on the Glacier Express, which winds its way through remote valleys, past sheer rock faces, idyllic mountain villages, over the Landwasser Viaduct, and through the Rhine Gorge, the Grand Canyon of Switzerland.
Day 1: Zurich → Lake Constance
After meeting your guide at your hotel we will enjoy a private city tour through Zürich before making our way to the Rhine Falls, Europe's biggest waterfall. You will have time to enjoy this natural spectacle by foot or boat. After a short ride, we make a stop in Stein am Rhein, a charming little medieval town near Lake Constance before we arrive at our first stay directly at the border of the Lake.
Day 2: Lake Constance → Vaduz
From Lake Constance, we turn south to St. Gall and its UNESCO World Heritage Baroque Cathedral of St. Gall Abbey before we start our journey towards the pre-Alps and one of Switzerland's most famous photo subjects: the mountain guesthouse Aescher which exists since 1884 and which is built directly into the solid stone of the Alpstein mountains. To call it a day we take back the cable car and drive to Liechtenstein's capital Vaduz where we will stay the night. As Vaduz has a lot to offer you can choose your own evening program, from visiting Vaduz Castle, one of the museums, the parliament or just enjoying dinner in front of the beautiful mountain scenery.
Day 3: Vaduz → St. Moritz
Make your own cheese under the guidance of an alp cheesemaker like it is done for centuries in the alpine regions. After this experience, we take the road further south, make a stop in Chur, before we arrive in St. Moritz. No matter what time of the year, St. Moritz is worth a visit. It is the birthplace of Alpine winter tourism (in 1864) and it has hosted the Winter Olympics twice. In Summer, guests can go on hikes, mountain bike, and horse riding tours, go sailing, rowing, windsurfing or kitesurfing, play tennis, or golf. Your guide will be happy to help you to decide what to do and organize everything.
Day 4: St. Moritz → Lucerne
It's time for one more highlight: the Glacier Express. Acclaimed for its many scenic splendors and excellence of engineering, this remarkable train route links the Alpine resorts of Zermatt and St. Moritz. You get off in Andermatt where your Guide will pick you up and bring you to Lucerne, a must-visit of central Switzerland.
Day 5: Lucerne → Zurich
We will discover Lucerne before we make our way back to Zurich. On our way, we will stop at the Skywalk in Mostelberg, one of Europe’s longest pedestrian suspension bridges, 58 meters above the Lauitobel Gorge. A final lunch will be made in Rapperswil, the town of roses, located on the upper end of Lake Zurich
