Trip Itinerary:

We kindly ask for your understanding that the final tour itinerary including our detailed recommendations can only be provided after your confirmation and down payment.

Day 1: Arrival in Zurich

Zurich Airport is very well connected to the city center. With only about 15 min by train to the city center, you can already benefit from your Swiss Travel Pass. Taking a taxi is not worth it here. Your hotel will be located right near the main train station - perfect for your day of arrival to walk around, stretch out your legs after your flight and get an impression of Switzerland's biggest city.

The famous Bahnhofstrasse, the Old town, and numerous museums are within walking distance. We specifically recommend visiting the Swiss National Museum Zurich, showcasing the history of Switzerland from its beginnings up to the present day, giving an insight into the Swiss identity and the rich tapestry of the country’s history and culture.

With your early arrival you may want to take the train up north - only about an hour away the biggest waterfalls of Europe, the Rhine Falls, are located. However you chose to spend your day, we will provide you with some of our suggestions for Zurich and you stay 100% flexible with your Swiss Travel Pass.

Day 2: Zurich → Engadin

Your driver guide will pick you up early in the morning for a scenic drive to St. Moritz.

Let's start this tour Swiss-like: with chocolate! Just around the corner of Lake Zurich lies the chocolate factory House of Laderrach. We would implement a short tour where at the end you can create your own chocolate bar!

On your way to the Alps, you will pass the beautiful Lake Walen from where the mighty seven Churfirsten arise. A short boat cruise will bring you to the Seerenbachfalls, the highest waterfalls in Switzerland. It is only a short walk to get closer to this natural spectacle. A small farm restaurant invites to linger around.

Later we will have a stop in the capital in Liechtenstein before we continue our drive into the Engadin valley from the eastern part via Klosters. In the late afternoon, we will go on a short hike before arriving in St. Moritz.

Day 3: Engadin Valley

The Engadin Valley is a true nature and outdoor paradise. St. Moritz was not without reason the birthplace of winter tourism and hosted the Winter Olympics twice. Despite its cosmopolitan atmosphere, it is the culture and tradition of this luxurious Alpine resort that has made it what it is today.

Go on a train ride on the Bernina tracks to Alp Grüm or even to Tirano in Italy. Offering breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers this UNESCO world heritage doesn't leave any wishes open. I have plenty of hiking suggestions for every fitness level. For cheese lovers: Have a break at the alpine cheesery Morteratsch and follow every step of making this swiss delicacy with your own eyes

If you would like to: Rent yourself an (E-) mountain bike to explore the Bernina valley a little closer.

As discussed: Go on a hike and discover a three-way watershed: the Inn, which flows through the Engadin and joins with the Danube to empty into the Black Sea; the Julia, which flows into the North Sea with the Rhine, and the Maira, which converges with the Po and then flows into the Adriatic Sea

Self-Guided (Train)

Day 4: Engadin → Zermatt

Today we will add another highlight to your travel memories: The famous Glacier Express train ride. Over its entire length, the Glacier Express leads over 291 bridges and through 91 tunnels over the Swiss Alps.    On your trip from St Moritz, the train winds its way through remote valleys, past sheer rock faces, idyllic mountain villages, over the Landwasser Viaduct, and through the Rhine Gorge, the Grand Canyon of Switzerland.

Enjoy the ride in the excellence class!

Day 5: Zermatt

Getting up early is worth it! See the first rays of sun bring a red glow to the imposing mountain peaks, how the Matterhorn stretches up to meet the sun and how peacefully and quietly the alpine pastures are spread out in between. Take in the spectacle from lake Stellisee, where the Matterhorn is reflected on windless days.

Afterward, a hearty breakfast of regional and homemade specialties is ready for you in the Fluhalp mountain restaurant.

Continue your way up by cable car to Glacier Paradise, Europe's highest cable car station (3883 meters). One of the highlights is certainly the platform with a view over 38 four-thousand-meter peaks and 14 glaciers of the Swiss, Italian and French Alps.

For the afternoon you may want to discover the Gorner Gorge -  it is a place of exceptional natural beauty. The wooden walkways leading between the towering cliffs provide a dramatic insight into the power of nature.

Day 6: Zermatt → Grindelwald

Today you will head from the canton of Valais to the Bernese Oberland. But first, after the first hour of your journey, we will organize a guided walk through the vineyards of the Valais. During your excursion, you will learn about the countryside, history, and heritage of the wine and the vineyards of the area and get to taste a glass of local wine in the vineyards.

Your train journey then continues through the 14km long railway Loetschberg tunnel and the beautiful Kandervalley towards Grindelwald.

Day 7: Grindelwald

Grindelwald is located on the foot of the notorious Eiger North Face. The last alpine challenge is feared and admired for centuries. Right next to it rise the snowy peaks of the Mönch and Jungfrau.

Paragliding (included): Experience the Jungfrau Region from an eagle's perspective during a tandem paragliding flight. Together with your tandem pilot, you walk a few steps down the slope and already you are floating in the air, enjoying the spectacular view of the Eiger North Face and the mountain world of the Jungfrau Region.

For the afternoon, I would recommend the Eiger Trail at the bottom of the Eiger Northface as well as a short walk on the Männlichen mountain.

Day 8:  Grindelwald → Lucerne

There is no better way to cross the blueish Lake Brienz than by boat. Go on a short walk to explore the beautiful Giessbach Falls.

Sitting on the foot of Mount Pilatus, Lucerne is often voted as one of the prettiest cities in the world, featuring a colorful old town and 14th-century city walls, as well as covered bridges including the iconic Kapellbrücke with its 17th-century art.

Day 9: Lucerne

We recommend a boat cruise on Lake Lucerne. If you are interested in the history of Switzerland you might want to hop off and hike part of the Switzerland trail or visit the meadow where the legendary oath of Rüttli was taken and therefore a confederation of the first three cantons was formed. Let me know if you are into watersports and I'd love to organize a rental of a Kayak, SUP or boat (licence required).

As a final highlight, we will include the oldest cogwheel train in Switzerland up to the top of Mount Rigi, the queen of all mountains. Enjoy once more the scenery of the Alps and Lake Lucerne.

Day 10: Lucerne → Zurich Airport

The airport is very well connected from Lucerne which will allow you to maybe get some souvenirs or just enjoy a hot coffee on the shores of the Lake before your flight.

We are confident that this itinerary will provide some exclusive memories for you and your family until it is time to say: "Ade, Au revoir, ciao and hope to CYou again in Switzerland"
