Trip Itinerary:

We kindly ask for your understanding that the final tour itinerary including our detailed recommendations can only be provided after your confirmation and down payment.

Day 1: Arrival in Zurich

Zurich Airport is very well connected to the city center. With only about 15 min by train to the city center, you can already benefit from your Swiss Travel Pass. Taking a taxi is not worth it here. Your hotel will be located right near the main train station - perfect for your day of arrival to walk around, stretch out your legs after your flight and get an impression of Switzerland's biggest city.

The famous Bahnhofstrasse, the Old town, and numerous museums are within walking distance. We specifically recommend visiting the Swiss National Museum Zurich, showcasing the history of Switzerland from its beginnings up to the present day, giving an insight into the Swiss identity and the rich tapestry of the country’s history and culture.

Day 2: Zurich → Schaffhausen → Lucerne

Luggage Transfer for all travel days: Leave your luggage (2 bags per Person; max. 25kg per bag) at the hotel just until 9 am and travel light and stress-free! Your bags will await you at your new hotel from 6 pm to max. 11 pm on the same day.

Start your Swiss experience with a natural spectacle: about an hour north lies the biggest waterfalls in Europe, the Rhine Falls. Go on a quick boat trip to explore the true power of this impressive water drop.

Via Zurich, you will make your way south to get to Lucerne. Sitting on the foot of the mountain Pilatus, Lucerne is often voted as one of the prettiest cities in the world, featuring a colorful old town and 14th-century city walls, as well as covered bridges including the iconic Kapellbrücke with its 17th-century art.

Day 3: Lucerne → Interlaken:

Luggage Transfer

Stroll around before you we will invite you on a boat cruise on Lake Lucerne.  Those who are interested in the history of Switzerland might want to hop off and visit the meadow where the legendary oath of Rüttli was taken and therefore a confederation of the first three cantons was formed.

Just on the other side of the lake you will find Mount Rigi - the queen of all mountains. The old cogwheel train will lead you to the top and is included in your Swiss Travel Pass. For the afternoon it is time to enter the Bernese Oberland.

Day 4: Jungfrau Region (Interlaken)

This day is reserved to explore the Jungfrau region which has a lot to offer. Head up the famous Jungfraujoch, or one of the many other mountains offering fantastic panoramas, visit the valley of the 72 waterfalls and enjoy one of the many hiking trails in the area. You might want to take a walk on the Männlichen, the small servant of the royal three mountains: Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. The notorious Eiger North Face was long time considered to be the last alpine challenge. A walk on the Mänlichen will let you dive into the tragic and heroic stories of this wall.

Day 5: Interlaken → Zermatt

Luggage Transfer

Via the beautiful Kandervalley and Lötschbergtunnel, you will arrive in the canton of Valais. Only one more train ride away lies Zermatt. The car-free town of Zermatt is located at the foot of Switzerland's landmark - the impressive Matterhorn.

For the afternoon you may want to check out the Gorner Gorge - it is a place of exceptional natural beauty. The wooden walkways leading between the towering cliffs provide a dramatic insight into the power of nature

Day 6: Zermatt

You will have the chance to discover Zermatt on the foot of Switzerland's natural landmark - the Matterhorn. Very popular is the 5 lakes hike in the morning to get a perfect reflection of the surrounding mountains.

The peak lift takes you up to the 360º viewing platform on Europe’s highest mountain station 'Klein Matterhorn', from where you can see 38 four-thousand-meter peaks and 14 glaciers. A must-see is also Zermatt’s glacier paradise.

Day 7: Zermatt → Montreux

Luggage Transfer

Continuing your train ride along the Valais (Valley) the language will change from German to French. Stretch out your legs to discover the castles in Sion. Arriving at the Montreux Riviera you can enjoy the afternoon on the shores of Lake Geneva.

For cultural interested travelers: A visit to the famous Chillon Castle

Optional: A wine tour through the vineyards of Lavaux

Day 8: Montreux → Zurich Airport

Very well connected from Montreux you can enjoy your day riding through Switzerland and explore our capital Bern. We would suggest leaving your luggage for some hours at the lockers at the train station and strolling around in Bern's cute Old-Town which is also a UNESCO world heritage site; and are you aware that the bear is not only the symbol of the canton? Bears live in the city center in a pit right on the other riverside of the old town.

We are confident that this itinerary will provide some exclusive memories for you and your family until it is time to say: "Ade, Au revoir, ciao and hope to CYou again in Switzerland"
