Trip Itinerary:
We kindly ask for your understanding that the final tour itinerary including our detailed recommendations can only be provided after your confirmation and down payment.
Day 1: Zurich Airport → Zurich:
We will organize a private transfer from Zurich Airport to your hotel, located in the heart of the city, close to the famous Bahnhofstrasse (shopping district) and Zurich's Old Town - perfect for your day of arrival to go spontaneously for a short walk and get an impression of Switzerland's biggest city.
To get rid of the Jetlag you may want to climb up the twin towers of the Grossmünster, which are not only Zurich's prominent landmark, but you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the city.
Day 2: Zurich: Day Excursion to Basel:
Your guide will meet you in the lobby of your hotel and will accompany you for the next few days: Today is reserved for a day trip to Basel, widely regarded as Switzerland's cultural capital. At less than 1 hour from Zurich (via train to avoid the traffic gem), Basel is rich in sights and art museums. The fondation Beyeler provides a world-class collection of artworks and is considered one of the world's most beautiful museums. If time allows you could also wander around in Basel's Old-town - it's worth it!
Day 3: Zurich: Day Excursion North East
Visit Europe's largest waterfall: The Rhinefalls. By boat, you get on the Rock in the middle of the falls to understand the power of this natural spectacle. Your journey continues along the Rhine to the medieval town of Stein am Rhein which is well-known for its well-preserved old town with painted facades and half-timbered houses. Along the shores of Lake Constance you will turn east to discover the UNESCO world heritage Abbey district of St. Gallen. Its magnificent Baroque cathedral forms a unique historical ensemble. The Abbey Library - with Switzerland's most beautiful hall and ancient books will fascinate you.
Day 4: Zurich to Ascona:
Via Lucerne: When the journey becomes an adventure: you are discovering history on the Gotthard Panorama Express. A unique combination of boat and train travel en route between Central Switzerland and Ticino.
Day 5: Ascona: Day Excursion into the Verzasca Valley:
Enjoy the day in the exceptional Ticino. Your guide will take you into the Valle Verzacsca for a little hike or walk OR go for a swim in the jade-green water. The Verzasca Dam, better known from the James Bond movie "Golden Eye" is also worth a stop.
Day 6: Ascona to St. Moritz:
Via Lugano and Lake Como, your guide will bring you safely to Tirano. Then the Bernina Express links up regions with different languages and cultures. This is not a rack railway and the train winds its way gently through splendid scenery.
On the highest railway across the Alps, the Bernina Express climbs up to the glistening glaciers before descending to the palms of Italy far below. This rail link between Northern and Southern Europe builds bridges between regions with different languages and cultures.
Day 7 & 8: St. Moritz:
- The Engadin Valley is a true nature and outdoor paradise. St. Moritz was not without reason the birthplace of winter tourism and hosted the Winter Olympics twice. Despite its cosmopolitan atmosphere, it is the culture and tradition of this luxurious Alpine resort that has made it what it is today. Whether you would like to enjoy a romantic horse carriage ride in one of the side valleys, enjoy some of the many nice walks in this area, or do some shopping in the luxury boutiques in St Moritz, there is plenty to do here and we will be happy to make suggestions so that you can make the most of this day.
- In Bregaglia, time passes slowly, at exactly the right pace for people wanting to escape hectic daily life. There is a remarkable change in vegetation, from the high alpine lakes to the Mediterranean climate further down the valley. Beneath dramatic mountain peaks, historic trails with breathtaking views wind their way through centuries-old chestnut groves, deciduous, romantic fir forests and isolated pastures.

Day 9: Engadin → Zermatt (Glacier Express)
Today we will add another highlight to your travel memories: The famous Glacier Express train ride. Over its entire length, the 8-hour journey on the Glacier Express leads over 291 bridges and through 91 tunnels over the Swiss Alps. Sit back and relax while the train winds its way through remote valleys, past sheer rock faces, idyllic mountain villages, over the Landwasser Viaduct, and through the Rhine Gorge, the Grand Canyon of Switzerland.
Enjoy the Excellence class to make this a once-in-a lifetime experience.
Day 10 & 11: Zermatt (self-guided)
Your guide will leave you for these two days, but the car-free town of Zermatt is a small village where everything is within walking distance - located at the foot of Switzerland's landmark - the impressive Matterhorn.
Enjoy the famous Gorner Grat train which gives an impressive view of the Alps and Zermatt and offers shorter and longer walks for every level.
The other day we organize a private helicopter flight for you to get closer to the Matterhorn and for an amazing view of the alps.
Day 12: Zermatt → Lausanne
Back with your guide, you continue your ride along the Valais (Valley) canton the language will change from German to French. Arriving at the Montreux Riviera you can enjoy the rest of the day on the shores of Lake Geneva.
A visit to the medieval Chillon Castle is always worth it.
Day 13 & 14: Lausanne: Day Excursion Jura mountains
Up into the remote area of the Jura mountains. The Vallée de Joux is the cradle of high-quality watchmaking, where the most prestigious watch brands still can be found. The Espace Horloger Vallée de Joux museum offers visitors of all ages an opportunity to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of watchmaking and tells the history of this industry, as well as its future, through modern, playful, and interactive exhibitions. Afterwards, the beautiful caves of Vallorbe are waiting for you to be discovered.
The next day is reserved for the city of Geneva, where you will have time to stroll through its old-town and potentially visit the CERN (TBC: guided tours for individuals can only be booked on-site and on the day of arrival) or the UN.
Day 15: Lausanne→ Bern
Today another magnificent train ride is awaiting you - the Golden Pass. Personally, this is my favorite train line, even though it is short compared to the Glacier Express. Making its way up the steep mountain ridge you shouldn't miss a single moment! These tracks are also the only way crossing the nature parc of Gruyère - cars have to make a detour for hours to experience what you can do, stressless in one of the baroque wagons of the Golden Pass.
Your guide will pick you up on the other side of the national park for a short detour to the medieval village of Gruyère and the Cailler chocolate factory. Combine food and hiking - we get ourselves a prepacked fondue rucksack and hike to one of the giant fondue pots (seating areas) to enjoy your delicious fondue. The area of Gstaad and Zweisimmen is known for its cheese delicacies.
Day 16: Bern → Jungfrau Region:
In the morning your guide takes you on a city stroll through Bern's cute Old-Town which is also a UNESCO world heritage site; and are you aware that the bear is not only the symbol of the canton? Bears live in the city center in a pit right on the other riverside of the old town.
Paragliding from Interlaken: Here you have spectacular 360-degree views of the broad expanse of the Alps and the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau as well as the blueish lakes of Thun and Brienz. Sit back and enjoy the magical experience as we make our way back to land.
Day 17 & 18: Jungfrau Region
Icy air sweeps over your face, snow crunches underfoot, and the panorama almost takes your breath away: on one side the view of the Swiss Mittelland towards the Vosges, on the other the Aletsch Glacier, lined with four thousand meter peaks. Standing on the Jungfraujoch 3,454 meters above sea level, you can feel it with your first step: this is a different world. It's one you have to experience.
Day 19: Jungfrau Region – Lucerne
On your way you will pass the blue-colored Lake Brienz before arriving in Lucerne. Lucerne's Old Town is rated every year among the most beautiful towns in the world.
We will also visit the beautiful Aare gorge: In Haslital Meiringen the Aare River has cut a gorge in the limestone that is 200 meters deep in some places. Thanks to the walkways and tunnels, it is easy to hike through the entire gorge.
Day 20: Lucerne (self-guided)
Enjoy the day on the shores of Lake Lucerne. If you are interested in the history of Switzerland you might want to hop off the boat and hike part of the Switzerland trail or visit the meadow where the legendary oath of Rüttli was taken and therefore a confederation of the first three cantons was formed.
Or take the oldest cogwheel train of Switzerland up to the top of Mount Rigi, the ‘queen of all mountains’.
Day 21: Lucerne → Zurich Airport:
Lucerne is very well connected to the city center. With only about 60 min to the airport, it allows you to get some souvenirs or just enjoy a hot coffee on the shores of the Lake as well.
We are confident that this itinerary will provide some exclusive memories for you and your family until it is time to say: "Ade, Au revoir, ciao and hope to CYou again in Switzerland"
