Trip Itinerary:

We kindly ask for your understanding that the final tour itinerary including our detailed recommendations can only be provided after your confirmation and down payment.

Day 1: Zurich Airport → Zurich: (Self-guided/Shuttle from Airport)

We will organize a private transfer from Zurich Airport to your hotel, located in the heart of the city, close to the famous Bahnhofstrasse (shopping district) and Zurich's Old Town - perfect for your day of arrival to go spontaneously for a short walk and get an impression of Switzerland's biggest city.

You can discover Zurich's Old Town or The twin towers of the Grossmünster, which are not only Zurich's prominent landmark, visitors can also climb up the Karlsturm and enjoy a breathtaking view over the city.

We specifically recommend visiting the Swiss National Museum Zurich, showcasing the history of Switzerland from ist beginnings up to the present day, giving an insight into the Swiss identity and the rich tapestry of the country’s history and culture. On top it is just next to the train station.

Day 2: Zurich → Appenzell: (private Guide + Van)

Your guide will pick you up at the arrival hall at your hotel. From here it is only a short ride to the Appenzell.

We'll take a detour to St. Gallen to discover the UNESCO world heritage Abbey district of St. Gallen. Ist magnificent Baroque cathedral forms a unique historical ensemble. The Abbey Library - with Switzerland's most beautiful hall and ancient books will fascinate you.

Your hotel is in a little village in the canton of Appenzell. Surrounded by farms, green fields, and hills and at the horizon the impressive Alpstein mountains.

Day 3: Appenzell: (private Guide + Van)

Nowhere else in Switzerland is the change from the hilly landscape of Central Switzerland to the craggy Alps so abrupt or impressive as in the Alpstein area. Mighty rock formations up to more than 2,500 meters high tower up as if from nowhere.

We'll invite you on a hike to the Ebenalp which offers spectacular views of this fascinating hiking area. The Aescher guesthouse is worldwide known, so we'll try to get up there as early as possible to avoid the tourist crowds.

Guided Tour

Day 4: Appenzell → St. Moritz (private Guide + Van + Train)

Today we'll take you to the Rhine Valley. You'll stop by in Liechtenstein and the famous Heidiland (a famous swiss movie character) with local handcraft masters and farm animals.

If you would like to do some shopping or equip yourselves for your next days in the mountains, you might want to stop by at the Landquart fashion outlet. From here your guide will leave you - it is a scenic train ride to St. Moritz via Davos. The hotel shuttle will pick you up in St. Moritz:

Day 5: Engadin: (Self-guided / train)

The Engadin Valley is a true nature and outdoor paradise. It was not without reason the birthplace of winter tourism and hosted the Winter Olympics twice. Despite its cosmopolitan atmosphere, it is the culture and tradition of this luxurious Alpine resort that has made it what it is today.

Enjoy a train ride on the UNESCO world heritage Bernina tracks offering breathtaking views on the surrounding peaks, take the cable car to Diavolezza with its impressive glacier panorama, or visit the alpine cheesery Morteratsch

Day 6: Engadin → Zermatt: (Self-guided / train)

Today we will add another highlight to your travel memories: The famous Glacier Express train ride. Over its entire length, the Glacier Express leads over 291 bridges and through 91 tunnels over the Swiss Alps.

On your trip from St Moritz, the train winds its way through remote valleys, past sheer rock faces, idyllic mountain villages, over the Landwasser Viaduct, and through the Rhine Gorge, the Grand Canyon of Switzerland.

Enjoy a wonderful day passing through the alps incl. a 4-course on-board menu.

Day 7: Zermatt: (Self-guided)

The car-free town of Zermatt is located at the foot of Switzerland's landmark - the impressive Matterhorn. The peak lift takes you up to the 360º viewing platform on Europe’s highest mountain station 'Klein Matterhorn', from where you can see 38 four-thousand-meter peaks and 14 glaciers.

A must-see is Zermatt’s glacier paradise.

Day 8: Zermatt → Basel: (Train + private Guide + Van)

Your guide will meet you again in Visp. Have you ever been in a tunnel, on a train in a car? The Lötschberg tunnel will take us into the Bernese Oberland.

We will stop in the Kander valley and enjoy a magnificent short walk to the blueish Lake of Oeschinen.

Another stop will be out capital: The bear is not only the symbol of Switzerland's capital, bears actually live in the heart of the city. Stroll around in Bern's old town which is part of the UNESCO world heritage.

Day 9: Basel: (self-guided / on foot)

Basel is widely regarded as Switzerland's cultural capital - rich in sights and art museums. The fondation Beyeler provides a world-class collection of artworks and is considered one of the world's most beautiful museums.

Transfer to Viking cruise. We are confident that this itinerary will provide some exclusive memories for you and your travel companion until it is time to say: "Ade, Au revoir, ciao and hope to CYou again in Switzerland"
