Mürren is a village located in the canton of Bern, Switzerland, on a terrace at an altitude of 1650 meters above the Lauterbrunnen valley. It is the highest continuously inhabited village in the canton of Bern.
Mürren was once settled by people from the Lötschen valley in the Valais and it still has a distinct character that can be recognized through the style of the houses and the pronunciation of the local dialect.
The village is accessible via a double-cable ropeway from Lauterbrunnen and a cableway from Stechelberg. The cableway passes through rugged waterfalls and rock walls before reaching the summit of Schilthorn at 2970 meters.
