Wengen

Wengen is a car-free holiday resort in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland, located at the foot of the Jungfrau mountain. It is situated at an altitude of 1274 meters and offers a family-friendly ski and rambling area around the Männlichen and the Kleine Scheidegg.

Wengen is known for its nostalgic timber houses and dispersed holiday chalets and hotels dating from the belle époque period. The resort is easily accessible via the Wengernalp railway from Lauterbrunnen and offers above-average hours of sunshine due to its south-west facing terrace. It is also a convenient base for visiting key excursion destinations in the Jungfrau region such as the Eiger north face, Jungfraujoch and Schilthorn summit.
