The Museum Rietberg is one of the largest art museums in Switzerland with a focus on the traditional and contemporary arts of Asia, Africa, the Americas, and Oceania. Most of the artworks are on public display in the museum’s galleries or in its open storeroom. The buildings that form the Museum Rietberg complex combine, in a harmonious way, old and imposing mansions with a modern building.

The Museum is a meeting place for people of all ages and offers a varied program of concerts, lectures, tours, workshops, and performance art. Its eclectic mix of events combines learning with hands-on activities, and lets participants explore the art and cultures of countries and regions beyond Europe.
